What's on your Elite: Dangerous "Bucket List"?

I'd like to explore more outside the bubble and hopefully discover something interesting and new, I feel I can't atm due to the gameplay but I'm hoping that will change next year.

That's about it atm, though the Type-10 will no doubt be under consideration as well.

- Playing for two years and 1300 hours, and still not Elite neither in combat nor in exploration. Will try to get there some day.
- Still ranking with Fed to buy a Corvette (think I will pass on that anyway).
- Finish to equip and engineering my Cutter (Still a lot to do).
- Engineering my Courrier, just for the fun of it

Other than that :

- Wait for planet appearance overhaul to start exploration for real, then go to Sag A*, Beagle Point and so on...
- Wait for mining overhaul to start mining again (maybe)
- Buy a Chieftain when available.
(yes, ED helped me to finally learn patience)

Also :

- Fly in open in crowded systems? (don't laugh, this will be a big step forward for an asocial like me the day I will be able to do so)
- Buy a Cobra (sold my old one months ago) again, just to remember good old days.
- And finally shake the claw of a Thargoïd...

[noob]

1. Get banned on the forums again
2. See a Thargoid
3. Making it to Sag A before the end of the year
4. Drive my SRV around the planet closest to Sag A
5. Kill Maynard, Phillips, the talking horse and of course Tj :D
6. Get pirated by Mara - She threatened to do this not long after I joined the forum, still waiting!
7. Learn to PvP - Had many offers for this :)
8. Get a station put in the Bran star system and call it home

Have you signed up for Distant Worlds Expedition 2? (that's pretty much its remit).

Nope, didn't know about that. I will take a look and see if it may be compatible with my own timetable. I would like to participate to such an event but it's not easy because of job, family, and lot of other obligations.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Thread is here ..

I missed out on Distant Worlds 1 but it was perhaps the single most epic multi-player PVE expedition ever witnessed in video gaming history and personally I'm NOT going to miss the opportunity to join in this time.

I believe their rough target is to travel around 1kly a day. If you can get a ship with, say, a 40ly jump range then that equates to around 25 jumps or, to put it another way, 25 minutes of travel per day. There will be waypoints/meet-ups along the route, not daily afaik, so if you can only manage an hour every 2 days (or one big 3hr session per week) then you should be able to keep up.

The remit for DWE2 (as I understand it) is to see the new things that FD will be adding to the game for explorers in Q4 of 2018 (new planetary surface tech and new galactic phenomena).

There will be people from all time zones so the chance of finding other people to meet up with, irrespective of what time of day you tend to play, should be high.

You're tempting me [yesnod]. And what you wrote here are great news. If it really goes like that, I surelly will be part of the expedition. Now I'm going to read the thread. Thanks again.

Hmm... thinking about it...

- get a Federal Corvette (rank, Credits, it's all there but I just can't somehow...)

- get an Anaconda (basically the same as above...)

- get rid of my Imperial Cutter (no, just kidding...)

- get an Orca

- maybe visit some of the nebulas in the neighborhood (I guess I'm not up for Sag A and even more not for Beagle Point, back and forth to Colonia was enough j j j j j j j ...)

- fine tuning some engineer rolls on some of my ships

- maybe taking part in the search for INRA Bases and stuff like that (but despite belonging to the "older generation" now, I found out it seems I still don't have enough "patience" for this...)

- not planning to make Elite in combat and very likely not even Dangerous, so Miss Jameson may kiss me where the sun doesn't shine... :D:cool:;)

- give it a break... (maybe applied more often than I can think of now...)

After more than 4400 hours have already
- Been to Sag A
- Been to Beagle Point (in a battle fitted Cutter)
- Been to Colonia (6 times)
- Been to all the Formadine rift areas
- Seen the mega ships
- Seen some secret bases
- Talked to Thargoids
- "traded" with Thargoids
- seen the Thargoid bases
- activated the Thargoid machine
- Seen brain trees
- Seen pumpkin things
- Done the Ancient Ruins quest
- Unlocked every engineer to Grade 5 (except the one that only goes to grade 4)
- Have every ship in the game (most 100% engineered)
- Been to all the Inra bases
- Found my own fumerole/geyser in the wild (outside of the bubble)
- Have double Elite (Dangerous Combat rank 67%) not really interested in getting Elite in combat but will happen one day.
- Landed a fully ladend Cutter on Achenar 3 without damage

Would like to find something notable in game on my own. Don't need to be first, just want to do it on my own.
- Circumnavigate the galaxy
- go to the furthest point at each "edge of the galaxy. Also go to the highest and lowest points above and below the galactic plane in a non traditional explorer ship.
- Find/see those crystaline trees Obsidiant Ant talked about ages ago.
- Have my own Squadron ship/planetary base
- Land on a lava world
- go under water in my Orca
- Get a ship kit for my Cutter/Orca/Type-6 (hint hint Frontier)
- Go on the next Distant Worlds Expidition.
- Explore the new phenomenon to come in 2018 :)

This! and I doff my hat to your accomplishments, Commander. Legend...

There's quite a lot I haven't done, but some of it doesn't interest me.

I might, one day, visit Beagle Point (via Colonia) and Hutton Orbital.

And I do want to reach Elite in combat (currently deadly 70~%) and Elite in exploration. Not fussed about trade.

I also want to annoy the entire Empire in to being hostile. But I'm not sure how to even achieve this, apart from go on a 1 man terror campaign through empire space. Lol
(In my new Corvette I might add)
Failing that, I might ask if support can grant my wish. :D

And kill a Thargoid.

Raxxla! Yes, I would love to finally be able to go there and see what the fuss is all about...definitely one for the list.

A lot of fuss for an atmospheric planet we cannot land upon - atmosphere and all that.

I imagine some time after we have the ability to stand up from our seats and walk around the high-tech ruins of this zero population world it will be both system-unlocked and discovered by the general pubic within a few hours. It not that hard to find, but I cannot say where at present.

To one day stand up and stretch those oh so crampy leggs of mine. Been sat in that chair for like 12 weeks or more!

Oh and reach elite in exploring.. im almost there so im saving it for one last big exhibition.
