Whats the best rocks to mine now?

Yeah. I know. This is called "pulling a rubbernuke". It's when you demand one change, fully knowing that it's the first step in a set of changes but hoping fdev don't spot it :)

So you don't want just m/s looting fixed, but also the payout rebalanced. Then probably fdev would need to stop relog farming, etc etc. I'd still say mining is a larger profession than looting, even before they turned out into cash fountain <shrug>
Yeah, i can't go in to bat for MS looting here. I acknowledge that it needs more than this breakfix. But it'd be nice if it just worked.

Tissue sampling just needs that fix which they already implemented once and somehow broke again.

Smuggling just needs that debuff removed, and it becomes a viable mechanic again.

This isn't war and peace like powerplay. It's just wanting the fundamental game loops to work.

Edit: smuggling would definitely have viable 10k/t loops if you throw some PP effects in there, but thanks to the bug, they're a fraction of that.

I was writing a response about how fdev should add a 'priority' into the issue tracker, but then I checked - m/s looting is the 6th most voted on issue (PWA is first) - so they kinda already have it. So hopefully sometime in 2021 (I'm pretty sure Odyssey won't introduce more issues :ROFLMAO: )

The other reason not to push for looting to be fixed now is that you know that a whole set of bugs will re-appear when Odyssey comes out (fdev seem to struggle with keeping fixes in the game - i.e. tissue sampling). I don't hold out a lot of hope for the PWA once Odyssey drops :(

Reality is, all the issues I've had with the game, because they're never "hot topics", I've just had to hope update to update that they magically get fixed. And somehow, they magically do.

First one was when wartime missions not spawning for some factions in war (the widely mislabelled "no massacre missions" bug) just magically got fixed in a major update, when a QA person necro'ed my bugreport and said "We're still not sure how to replicate this, but let us know if it's still an issue after the update".

Then it was the fix to make mission cargo jet first from hijack targets... not really a breakfix but a great QOL improvement.

I get so fired up about the smuggling one though because I spotted it in Beta... at that time all market UI elements reported the correct pricing, except the final price before confirming the sale, that's when it applied the stolen debuff incorrectly.

I bugreported that with pretty detailed info on what needed to be fixed. FD responded to it and confirmed the bug. FD put a fix in the next Beta update. The fix was to update all UI elements to show the incorrect price.

A little part of me does feel somewhat responsible there... did I miswrite something? Did I not provide enough info? I'm big for "if there's a bug, report it, because if you don't report it it won't get fixed". Well, I reported it, and FD broke it even more... fact sticks that when this sort of thing gets swept under the carpet because it's not FOTM is just a bigger kick in the guts.

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed that I reported the m/s looting being broken on the first day of the first beta ... then watched it not be fixed in any subsequent beta, or any subsequent patch ...

Ah... smuggling. I remember smuggling back in the early days. It paid well, sure, but it was also hard, exciting and really made me feel like I pulled off something when I made it into the station unscanned, knowing all the way in that it only took one, ONE successful scan for me to be utterly demolished.

Now it's neither hard nor well-paying anymore, so why bother?

Anyway, I'm ecstatic that the PWA is getting fixed. It's at least one step and it means that mining is another activity that I don't feel like an idiot for bothering with. Don't care much about the payout (and I really DO like the fact that the prices have been buffed/nerfed so it's not just "put all but three resources on ignore and fill 'er up", it's awesome!), but I do enjoy drifting around lazily while listening to Hutton Orbital, blowing up/drilling/blasting rocks every once in a while.

I hope that the other fixes will come too. The one thing worse than not having enough different activities in a game is having a whole bunch that do not work as advertised, in my opinion.

Lack of variety shows lack of creativity. Lack of functionality shows laziness. Again, just my .02 Cr. :)

We've got plenty of creativity in ED, but it could use a bit more commitment.
