What's the dumbest way you've destroyed your ship?

Two deaths to my name so far:

1) At a RES: My Viper vs. NPC Python. His shield is down, some hull damage taken already. Then my shields go down. Frantically boosting away, at about 4-5km (shields still down) I think "darn, I want that bounty!". Turn around, boost...directly into the pythons firing arc. The explosion must have looked spectacular.

2) Taking off in my cobra (from a station). When approaching the mail slot, an adder comes in, and turns into my direction. I move to avoid it, closely, and have a close look at it (nice!). When I look forward again, the edge of the mail slot is coming closer...frantic thrust up...closer...boom. *sigh*

At least I learned something from both of these encounters

Clearly yesterday!
I was bounty hunting in a res with my clipper the second time. Massed a bounty of 9.5million and thought: “I can get the the 10million!“ So i fight with an anaconda and a npc wing of 5 lokal bandits wants to kill me. I killed the anaconda, 4 of the 5 bandits and then... asteroid. I am glad i got the insurance but i only got 200k left. Ok i get into my viper. Starting out of the station and boosted right into an npc flying into the station. Yeah mistakes we're made yesterday...

Don't drink and "drive" *hahaha* Happened to me once when I had too much booze.

Hahaha! Great I only lost 3,6 Mio. Credits yesterday bounty hunting.

After working my way up to a Clipper, I thought I'd try my hand at smuggling. So I re-bought a Cobra, outfitted it for smuggling and started dropping into WSS's to find cargo to smuggle.

Long story short I end up finding an orbis station with a black market and line up my approach. Ironically right before this I thought to myself,"now don't screw this up and run into a wall." Murphy's Law I suppose. Anyway, at 20km I go to full throttle, fa off, shut down all nonessential modules including thrusters and shields, drop a heat sink and coast towards the slot. At 8km I request docking. At 4km I reactivate thrusters. However, at 2km I realize I'm still moving at full speed even though I've throttled back. "Did I forget to turn on thrusters?" At 1km I realize I didn't turn flight assist back on. I do so immediately and attempt to pull up. At 0km I stop, hear somebody say eject and then the ship explodes. So much for my first real foray into smuggling and not screwing up.

lined up with the letter box in my T6 and my 2 year old came in, thought I'd throttled back to stop but left it just crawling came back a few minutes later to the station firing for blocking the entrance 1.3 mil in insurance and cargo DOHHHHHH

I let my mate try out my joystick before he bought one....

my newly purchased hauler, full with cargo, he flew from one station to another, and mistakenly hit the boost button instead of reverse as he was trying to navigate the toast rack.....

Not even enough to cover the insurance.... I've never made the insurance mistake again.
