What’s the most dangerous thing in ED?

NPCs

I'm kidding of course, they are still abso-g-lutely hopeless; I've been on a break for nearly 6 months & decided to stack assassination missions to ease my way back into the game - 3 mission target Corvettes appeared in the same instance & I killed them all in 5 mins without losing shields on my Vulture; I estimate that I could have killed a wing of 5 in one instance with an ammo replen - pathetic Frontier, simply pathetic!

No...my real answer to the question posed by the OP takes into account the company developing Elite....

...hope!

Running into one of these Rocky bois in FA off XD

I hate playing ping pong in the asteroid rings XDView attachment 128136
Man, am I glad I am not alone in this. Whilst practicing for the Small Stock Ship Wing PvP Thing I tried FA off in both a viper mk3 and an ICourier and I received more damage from the g rocks and my lack of control than other players' weapons. Aaaaargh! I dislike combat FA On but will have to use it because one bonk with a rock is so lethal in stock ships. Frustrating, but at the same time curiously cool and interesting.

Patience!

Tiredness no matter where you are in space tiredness can kill ya, it's as if the planets jump out in front of ya when your nodding off at the controls.

Landing on a high-G planet without checking the actual G number and landing in a 0.01G style. Easy way to dig a hole in the ground.

The most dangerous thing in E: D is whatever keeps taking out my SRV while remaining invisible. Most recently this happened earlier this week. Freshly deployed SRV parked by my ship at 100% health. Ten minutes later, it exploded. I was recording at the time, and there is no reason for it at all. I also have a recording of an earlier incident (identical). I want to know what tech is being used to do this so I can get me some of it...

I died once landing at an outpost. I decided to snap a picture of my newly customized AspX while hovering over the landing pad. I must have exceeded the time limit to land, because as soon as I snapped back out of camera mode, I saw the rebuy screen, didn't see my ship get blown up or anything, just the screen, what a jip. It was one of my all time dumb ED moments, in all it's glory. It could be a meme with the nerdy kid with glasses: snaps selfie of ship, gets blown up in the process
Glad I'm not the only one that did this.

Getting out of the station with a Beluga. You’re gonna get rekt by the station if you get stuck because of those unnecessary wings.

Spending several hundred hours doing the same pointless, monotonous grind when there's better ways to spend your time.

For me landing on high-g planets with my exploration outfit (5D thrusters, 3D shields). Have to exercise that, nearly died at one of the first sights on DW2 (The View).

For an Ironman player, definitely bugs.

I couldn’t risk landing at a surface port for months for fear of being assaulted by falling skimmers.
Then came the security Ramaconda’s that we’re capable of instantly destroying small ships. Lost two CMDRS to those...
