What's the most OP weapon?

Hate to mention this, but, pretty sure there is a crazy amount of cheating going on right now.
I had https://s.orbis.zone/qX3A destroyed in under 20 seconds by a single Python2. They appeared to be using a very typical frag/pa gank build. It's not an ideal setup for PvP, but, it should be relatively gank proof as long as I leave as soon as attacked. Which I did. I generally don't have time for PvP, (PvP in ED is boring to me), so I typically just leave. No panic, just a bored sigh, then high wake, same as I have been doing for a decade. I failed to escape in a ship that should be nearly impossible to stop from leaving by a single attacker without something fishy happening.

Did you scan their ship? No torpedoes or mines on their build at all? Cutter shields take less than 2 large torp racks to bring down.

I did not scan the ship but there were no missile warning sounds, no missiles/mines on the radar, and a torp would not have been able to catch that build while boosting away. The shots that missed and went by me were PA and frag, with the green cosmetic applied. Makes no sense to me. If it was not a glitch, exploit, or cheat, it had to have been some sort of lag situation where they were able to shoot at me for a while before damage registered on my end. The transition from frame shift to normal space after the interdiction did appear to take much longer than normal though, so....
I dunno....

I tried myself gank such (well shielded) cutters, and unless they made really big mistakes, they usualy able being to leave at will.

I can assure you that is not possible for single cmdr, even with max dmg + premium bulid frag bulid(in p2), to stop such cutter from wake, if such cutter did submit, then proceed to high wake right away after being interdicted, when did all of it, in right order. Wich you did... Unless you actually lost interdiction, but I belive you would said so, if did.

Think about it, you said being able evade gankers for years, so I bet you saw quite many, during your times... but this one felt diffrent right? I bet you where attacked by frag + PA bulids before, but they where not be quite like "strong" as this one. Because they cant, unless cheated, as there no "exploits" or bugs related with frags or PA. One can premium thier bulid, for extra 30% dmg, but that alone isnt enough to kill such cutter, in such short amount of time. Been and tried that, so I know.

I dunno....
If there is "delay" in drop transition, there will be some lag. But... it really does not matter if there is lag or not.
Legit cmdr, even if that ganker would be most skilled killer of all cmdrs, you should still be able to leave at will. Neither, single cmdr, cant dish this much dmg, to actually outdps waking cutter, with such shields, and thier hull, neverless. This require firepower of a wing. Donno for others, but for me, sounds like typical dps cheater encounter.

Not going to name and shame, the rules, and while I am pretty sure, I am not 100%sure.
I had 4 pips in sys and 2 in engines btw. Standard escape procedure for a shield tank. It may have been more than 20 seconds, but I hit the last targeted system key on my throttle, then immediately hit the high wake button. If it was more than 20 seconds it was not much more. I don't think I was suffering from too much lag, but can't be sure of that either.
Extremely suspicious, but not certain.
In my trade Cutter, which has half the shields you have, I once got interdicted, hit zero on my throttle, went to the Galmap, picked the system I wanted to jump out to, hit the high wake button, turned to face the system, waited for the countdown, then boosted. With 4 pips to SYS I lost under 40% of shield. The player attacking me was in a Chieftain, so potential firepower wasn't an issue.

Maybe the player who attacked me had a terrible build, but even with torpedoes involved (you need more than a couple to knock down a class 8 shield) I can't see how what happened with you isn't cheating.

Thanks everyone for the comments - very interesting. I always play "solo" because I was ganked once and realize how annoying that was, so just don't bother putting myself out there. Having said that, how in the world does anyone "cheat" in ED? I get the idea of premium ammo as I used it occasionally against Thargoids and for titan bombing - is that what we mean by cheating (i.e. premium ammo in PvP and against other players in open play)? Surely there's no way to change the game such that ships can boast more than FD intended, right? Or am I just that naive...

Premium ammo isn't cheating.

But there are allegedly trainers Out there allowing you to change stats incrementally. For example 5% more damage or 100% more speed.

I see some cmdrs putting forward valid points in premium munitions weapon choice and certain builds also speed and distance.
Obviously these people have far more knoledge than I on the subject.
The thing is though that in my experience and I think also in that of Gorankar in these instance is that its fishy because it all happens at once.
It's not the one thing so to say it is and they are interdicting you in seconds although your dor is firmly in the cicle then You are boosting away at in my case around 520 but with a head start but they are keeping up easily every shot is on taget and your buffs seem to be of no meaning.
Like said earlier its not about winning the fight its looking critically at what happens and everything together does not sum up .
I am being a bit longwinded (not native English) but:

  • no possible escape from interdiction (in seconds)
  • boosting no effect easily keeps up with you
  • easily staying within the needed distance
  • every shot on target
  • your buffs nulified as you are in a sidey
  • and only needing seconds for the kill

this just cant be right and it happens a lot I instantly block these players though
