Whats with these Mission Signal Sources ? Why are they made this way?

The other fun problem that maybe someone can correct me on is if I find all the black boxes (for instance) in several USS, then get killed & lose them I don't seem to get any more USS spawns, so I have to fail the mission. Though maybe I just got annoyed and quit to soon ;)

Either way, it would be a much better mechanic to have mission information provide the exact location of a target as opposed to making you sit and wait, pretending to conduct a search for something that is really just a random spawn.

Yes, I agree. You would think they would know the whereabouts of what you need instead of flying around in hope that is turns up. When it comes to assasinations and pirate lords, these people should be elsewhere, like at a station. They will be leaving a specific station at a certain time (so says their inteligence report), you then need to follow them with your wake scanner, interdict and destroy. Would also be good if you could pick up their escape pod for more credits.

You can find assassination targets in SC and interdict them if you prefer that to the USS method. :) They will spawn there during the window of opportunity given in the mission description.

But I'm not defending the USS mechanic, which I agree can at times be far too slow to spawn. I made a suggestion about it some time ago...

Not saying my ideas were great, but I think it might have been an improvement on what is currently there. :)

If you want a mission that is just go there and fight, then you'd be wanting massacre missions. Hunting for a target needs to include some kind of hunt. Which right now, is in space. :)
Unfortunately, it's not really any kind of hunt at this point, it's 'go and wait for spawn'.
It needs to have some kind of interaction. Like a trail of breadcrumbs for something to follow or do.

I'm really hoping that the post-2.4 updates include some major upgrades/additions to the missions system.
