just curious as to where people are basing themselves out of and why. I've been heinkel city in almad for a while now. good variety of missions for me which I like and I can get most modules I need in the immediate area with I sola nearby as a last resort and an interstellar factor in the closest system to me for clearing bounties and fines

i havent home system, flying from engineer to engineer and using ship transfer.
It’s a shame you can’t add some sort personalisation to the station your based in. Hire your own hollowed out Astroid base which no one else can use. You could name it and add colour schemes. I would be willing to pay for this...
Ross 780 - Federation faction.
Was member of a lan centre that closed after 16 years, was the UKs longest running centre so Frontier named a planet after it for us in memory... Wireworld. I have a faction there been working on and off with friends to help that faction take control but taking a break from Elite at the moment so the factions nearly always the 2nd most influential.
Occasionally logon as I'm out exploring until mid 2018 patches drop. Ross 780 has a cool moon right next to the sun which will be amazing when we can land on it and outtfitting is generally decent in this system. Sometimes when you hyperspace in your almost inside the moon.
Our economy normally gives good return for Painite and with 5-6 factions missions are a plenty. We don't get that much human traffic through which is weird being close to Sol.
Only 4-5 jumps from good mining system which is Frey.

Can't tell why exactly. Once I stumbled upon info about this station in that system being the capital of Empire so I went for a visit. It was over 200 LYs from my general area of operations but I took the trip nonetheless. And I stayed there. By that time I didn't have "home station", I just roamed from one to another in small Adder. Since then it's my home base, have all 9 ships docked there.
But I'm thinking about relocating. More and more I wish for more eye pleasing surroundings. Just need to find some nice park-themed station nearby Cubeo.

I was at Al-Haytham Enterprise for a long time, made a home at Allen Hub for a while, and then moved on over to Jameson Memorial. That's where I am now.

Ray Gateway, Diaguandri. High Tech station with the 15% LYR discount and many modules available. Proximity to the pleiades was a great benefit for me at first, now I watch the burning stations getting closer with a bit of concern.

Chango. The idea of a planet being a giant fish farm was rather good (shame they changed it from water world to an earthlike...). So I created a bit of back story for my commander around that. Been based there since I started playing in premium beta
Dont really have a home system. But i do consider staying with friends occasionally at Goldstein port and jameison.
My real home is the station that is called"Berlin" because thats where i come from in RL and its also in a system next to SOL kinda nice that such a station exists and it's also grey and a little bit depressing atmosphere in the station like in Berlin 
. My second home is Carter Port just because its very bright and has a nice looking interior sometimes you need a little bit variety.

And it being this forum and game, the end times would have come.
Also, those assets have to be manually added. See the screaming going on about player factions.
Jameson Memorial is where all my ships are but I operate in nearby systems like Bunda, Fong W@ng and LFT 926.
