The most nostalgic thing about all that is the music. I started gaming 1984 on a friend's Atari 800XL, got my own C64 in 1986 and skipped straight to PC in 1993, no Amiga or Atari ST in between.
You can still find good gameplay with indie games today. Expectations have matured of course. Archon wouldnt cut it today anymore but it was a great game at the time.

If there had not been a physical version of chess I doubt they would have invented a video game of it.
But yeah we are loosing touch with physical reality. If you have never experienced real lego what do you see and feel when you see virtual lego

Why would someone invent a virtual lego? The medium pretty much dictates what the artist makes of it. You cannot recreate the tactile experience of a real building block game in video games, but you can do things that are impossible in the real world. Each medium has its strengths and limitations.

Isn't Lego. Rather a game that uses a building block idea and makes it fit for video game format. Tetris takes a different aspect of "shape-fitting" and makes a completely different game of it.
