When getting griefed actually makes fun (sort of^^)

So yesterday I was going home from a (not too long) trip in my D-rated ASP Explorer to Shinrata and - you guessed it - got interdicted and killed by a wing of FDLs and Cutters.
Now my humble opinion about griefers and open vs. solo play is pretty much the same as Vindicator Jones describes in his videos - so even though I got plenty of rebuys and only a few jumps to go, I was a tiny bit annoyed.

Anyway, as soon as I manage to get back to Jameson Memorial there is already talk going on about the griefers in the system.
Me and two other cmdrs decide to take them on, I change to my Conda and we Wing up.

I haven't really played any PvP at this point (except of course occasionally getting killed by griefers^^), so at this point I'm quite a bit hyped ;)
We go into supercruise looking for them and talking about how we would mess em up, until we see one of them.
My wing member interdicts, I jump in and....5 seconds later we have lost the fight and I am dead...

Although we lost big time, that really was fun and stuff like this remembers me that all in all the community in Elite is awesome!
10/10 would pay the 30Mio cr. for the rebuy again!

PS: I am working on an over-engineered FDL myself for occasions like this. Won't make up for me sucking at combat and I will get killed again, but it's still fun ;)

I love this sorta stuff. +Rep for attitude!

I linked upwih Adles Armada a while back, to protect Eravate, in my trusty PvE FDL. (All pulse lasers! Not meta in the slightest!)

We mostly ended up just faffing about, but when any iffy CMDRs showed up, we snapped back in to it.
I didn't get a single kill, but I didn't die either and in the end I switched to a ridiculous rail-sidewinder. And died. Alot.

But it was hilarious.

More recently i gave a pair of CMDRs in torpedo Anacondas a run for their money in my high speed Python.
They were sat outside an Anarchy station, blowing up anything and everything that arrived.

I was in one of those moods where you don't give a crap, I had loads of cash, and the CG meant nothing anyway.
So I got their attention (which didn't take long), and took them on a tour around the back of the station, while dodging the hailstorm of multicannon rounds.

The goal was to trick them in to hitting the station and get them killed by it. Unfortunately their aim was much better than I expected, and they pursued me right to the back of the station.
Then raced back to the slot, and swished in at 450m/s, in Open, dodging the traffic, and handing in my CG stuff.

It was amazing. :D

Then I undocked, and went to boost out of the station, and my gamepad disconnected and I kinda just slowly rolled out of the slot in to a hailstorm of torpedoes and multicannon rounds. Lol

And made two friends for being a good sport. :)

Worth every penny. (I still made a profit from the CG. Lol)

These are the stories worth reading, thank you so much.
Unfortunately I can't stand the daily video-spam from the establishment, too much of the same old bragging.
Refreshing stories, much appreciated.

+Rep & respect. o7

Awesome attitude you have their mate! rep +

At least you jumped in and tried to give it a go. A lot of new commanders give up or perma move to solo..

Weirdly though, I think there is a place for griefers, and psycopaths, but they shouldn't have so much free reign in high security systems like they do now, and should be confined more to anarachy and low security systems. Then in order to drive traffic to these system, frontier could have specific missions or CG's in these areas, and leave the poor new guy coming out of space dock for the very first time alone..

Fight back! Just do it in a cheaper ship!

Would love to see improved c&p even if it was just improved system security response (as I've said elsewhere)....

The current high security response would be the new low security response.... medium would consist of faster response as well as 1 super-engineered (better than is possible for us humans) ship with high security response being very fast response with a wing of 2 corvettes (or cutters) and 2 FDLs.... all super-engineered. The criminals could still stay and fight... if they dare!

and suicide winder needs to be solved... somehow...

I'm wondering how it's possible that a single commander in whatever ship is able to take out even a somehow "unexperienced" Anaconda winged up with one or two other ships in 5 seconds *scratches head*.

What uber-engineered loadout is able to achieve this?

Well three engineered FDL + a engineered Cutter...My Conda is only engineered to a minimum, which means I only engineered so much in other to unlock subsequent engineers.

OP well put. I totally enjoy the fun that they add to my game play. I have lost about 20 ships and took a few out. as I get better at combat they are starting to pay the buck! :)
+1

So obviously I misunderstood your initial post. In case you interdicted not one but four fully engineered combat vessels at a time, this was a presumable outcome. You and your wingmate must be very brave men. [up]

Need more players like you.

I'm currently offline but if you see me around and need wing support for blowing up...well, just about anything or anyone, feel free to pop me a message and I'll lend my guns.

Wrong Thread:

I got interdicted and killed in my D Rated ASP. Im so sick of these griefers ruining the game! I'm going back to Solo. FD when are you going to do something about these griefers just sitting around trying to ruin peoples fun?!

Right Thread:

I got interdicted and killed in my D Rated ASP. Irked me a bit, i decided to wing up, go out and seek my revenge. Unfortunately i lost but now i have the bug and cant wait to kit out my FDL to tackle these guys in future!

...

+ Rep for having the correct yet very rare attitude. Glad you had fun :).
