When is FRONTIER fixing the VIVE issues?

It has native support but is worse looking than on the Rift.

When is Frontier fixing all the issues with the vive, like scale and resolution?

i know this doesnt resolve your issue, but it helps.

did you try fiddling with the Vive graphics settings like the SS.
i did it the other day, and i could finaly read the text in the cockpit.

had steamVR on SS 2x and the game on 1x.

running Titan X SLI... altho VR doesnt support SLI it (yet).

We know... :) ...but FD still needs to optimise the game for the Vive (e.g. to fix the scaling and rendering artifacts)

Upping the render target multiplier is not a fix to the underlying problems, it's a brute force method of increasing the rendering quality of the source it is given. They still need to fix the Vive support.

Exactly!
The lack of updates from FD is making me believe they're expecting us to just get used to the way it is now and forget about any kind of fix... I hope I'm wrong though.

This is disconcerting to me too. It has now. Been over 3 months since the Vive launched and as far as I know the only FD "support" for the Vive by way of patch has been one to slightly improve the text readability. The crippling resolution issue remains unresolved.

I am one of the lucky few who own both HMDs, but the only thing that keeps me from selling my Rift is Elite. Once the permanent fix is patched into the game, b'bye Rift.

The VR section of the forums obviously doesn't get read by the devs, stick another in the ever so popular Community Goals section and see what happens ;)

I also don't like having to make a global change in openvr for one game.... I got a vive last week & was shocked at how bad an experience playing elite was compared to every other vr game.😞

I only have a GTX970, which is fine for playing the game, but it doesn't have the power for supersampling and anti aliasing on top of that. I can run SS at 1.5 in the steamVR file and .75 ingame, and SMAA anti aliasing, but the peripheral text is still pretty blurry. Anything dead center is ok (not great...but ok) but as soon as I look down without moving my head to check out a ship scan...I can't read anything. The ships and stations are constantly vibrating and flickering. When I'm at a RES site I'm pretty much pixel sniping because I can't make out the difference between one ship and another unless I'm about to run into it.

I REALLY don't want to have to buy a GTX 1070 (I think the 1080 is overkill) to solve FD's problem for them by bruit force.

Soon (tm)?...

I apologise for my terrible sense of humour. I hope FD gives the Vive some TLC soon... I mean in the near future. :)
