When to get python ?

Well I want my python asap.

I am now at 53 mil, so close.

I want the bare minimum to trade with, not even need full cargo, perhaps half cargo to start, but do want to be safe with 5 percent insurance money (I am alpha backer).

Anyone know what assets I should have before buying it with this criteria ?

Really just bare minimum with insurance cost and half cargo (6,000 per ton cost cargo).

Could it be done with 60 mil ?

If you buy the python with a discount then 60 mil should be fine - I think one of the Powerplay factions has a discount on ships? - otherwise 65 mil is about right, pretty sure that's when I bought mine.

Be careful.
Do not buy the Python too soon, or it will limit your options and stall your financial progress.
You need insurance money, preferably at least twice the actual amount and you need a few million for cargo.

I bought the ship when I had 90 million or so, for a good trader build with a good jump range and some weapons and defenses.

LHS 3447 Dalton Gateway has them in for 20% discount if you can stomach the 100,000ls trip.

Any idea of how much longer this is in play for? I've never really paid much attention to how long the ship discounts typically last.

Cheers.

learnt that lesson but at least not the hard way, I used the 15% discount and bought one with 54mil. I spent the next few hours playing the game so safely as I did not have the rebuy.

If you buy a ship to trade, factor in the rebuy AND a full cargo of the highest cost per tonne cargo you run. If not you will be playing in solo and even then with the new interdict happy npc's still have problems. It's not safe to go shield less any more

So take a bit of time and have a less stressful time while getting enough credits, as suggested 65mil is a good margin to aim for

Is it really 20 percent discount as on reddit I am just reading ships discounted 10 percent.

Also is the 10 percent discount for ships at founders actually working now ?

Good as that used to be bugged.

I remember it displayed the ship 10 percent cheaper but when you actually brought it you payed full price.

I got 1 at 65 mill I had to down grade all the stock stuff to buy enough bays to trade with out shields. I got away with it. but that when ship up keep wasn't outrageous like now. id say 73 mill minimum

It comes with 82 T cargo racks acording to wiki, is that correct ?

Perhaps I can trade with 82 T and work my way up, that would be fun. I am not wanting to racing to riches.

Can someone confirm if the python does come with 82T cargo racks ?

I just about got the money to buy it but I know I should not but it is hard to hold off, ahhhhh !!!!

Classical pattern.

People squeeze, then buy before they should, fly a stock ship without re-buy and....well, the rest is evident from many forum posts.

Forget the Python for the next couple of days, dig in for a weekend of earning more cr, and be in a much more comfortable position on monday.

You're pushing it and you know it.
