When you die on foot?

Sadly it all happened so quickly and I did not notice the temps. I had several audiable warning and red flashes began to appear on my hud indicating heat damage I assume. I began to head straight back but died just short of my ship. I had put my shield on but don't know if that helps with high temps?
The flickering safe/unsafe indicator could have been a bug but up until this point it has been either one or the other in regard to dangerous temperature. If anyone has this then I'd be cautious straying too far on foot from your ship or SRV.

The whole thing was over very suddenly.
Disembark: 19:57 13 seconds
Dead: 19:59 50 seconds.
Nuked by the N star glare. Wild looking system I bet

I managed to brab one not very good shot before heading off on foot for a better angle. Should have stayed home.

I've noticed the temperature can vary as you move around and I've seen it go up sharply as I move out from the shade under my Anaconda.
So even if the temp is safe to disembark, it may not stay safe. Approaching a lava spot for example and of course as the planet rotates and moves in it's orbit.
