Where and how to find a debris field??

I find plenty in USS's (Combat Aftermath especially around CZ's, Degraded Emissions just about anyplace, and of course, what I make from NPC).

Yeah I was finding them in combat aftermath USSs but very little. I've only been in and out the debris field a few times and have enough for what I needed. I knew you could get them from transporter ships but I didn't fancy blowing them up . For me the debris fields are worth a look for mechanical scrap definitely a quick way and inara doesn't say to check them, although they are a great source tbh

Debris fields are actual persistent POIs after a war or civil war etc, right? It's not a USS you need to scan? Also can you usually find Combat Aftermath USS while a CZ is active nearby? This is the part of the game that's super frustrating. The sheer lack of information on how things spawn or where. Is it Deep Space? Is it within the sphere of influence of a body? Etc.

I dropped in on one the other day and the material content was pretty disappointing.

Yea they are persistent ( Debris fields). It is frustrating finding needed USSs, but https://inara.cz/ is where I get most of the iformation from, iy does help alot.
