Where are my ships located please help!

I purchased the game during release and when I played the game I found it too daunting and got discouraged witht he problems it had and the controls. I just installed the game again and I got to say it has came a LONG WAYS! The x52 doesnt even have to be customized in the controls anymore and Im loving it. Im about to set out in the real world again. I never played it long enough before to collect my ships that came along with my purchase so I need help in locating them. I have no clue where I was told they were on release and I never collected them before. I am supposed to have access to a Cobra MkIII, and Viper MkIII and sidewinder. The latter is the default if Im not mistaken (Like I said I never played enoug to get into it before) so where are the others located. Thanks for any help.Honeybadger33

While in a station, go to station services>shipyard>ship transfer or stored ships and it will tell you where they are at in the galaxy. You can the ship them to you for a proce, or jump to them.

Thank you guys! Very much appreciated. Ive wanted to get into this game for the longest and Im finally doing it! You can tell im new but hopefully before long Ill be a worthy pilot and meet a lot of flying buddies. I wish the game had then what it does now because Id be an ace by now. I went so far before as to print out the pdf instructions and it took almost two color cartridges! still didnt learn how to play LMAO. See you guys and thanks for the help

There is a bug with the galmap if you transferred a ship then left the game before it arrived the galmap icon will be in the wrong place, but the location given in ship transfer information in the shipyard is always correct.

To fix it just use the ship from the shipyard and it'll set the galmap icons to the right system.

Ok, so...

Welcome back.

I have some good news and some bad news.

The bad news is that the learning curve is now actually steeper now than ever before.

The good news is that there's so much more to do and see now.

So, to enjoy the ride, don't try to get too far, too fast!
Do a bit of everything...then do the stuff you actually like.
Do some community goals, and before you know it, you'll have clocked up way more hours than originally intended...your family will feel orphaned, and you'll have collected both materials and credits which you'll use to upgrade your ships.

If you focus on getting the biggest ship or the most credits, then you'll fall into "the trap" and we'll see you posting threads about how tedious the grind is in this game....so, don't...just don't.

And WHEN you get stuck...come back here and the answers and help will always be waiting.

Cheers and have fun.

Welcome back!

As others have said, the Galmap will have a red ship icon which shows the position of owned ships, and in ship transfer under station services.

There's a chance these might be quite far away! Don't let that put you off, because you can just order them to be delivered to your station (providing it has a shipyard). :)

The game can be daunting to begin with, but if you need any help at all, just ask. :)

I want to stress the point: always check the forum for help and hints!

If you don't the game can become boring while you are missing the fun part just because you didn't know where to look for it.

Yes, this game is to hard to be played without the forum. I like that, others hate that. Just my opinion in hope to help the OP, don't start discussion about that, there are other threads for this.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! And FYI Im a dood! LOL. I Still havent found the ship or ships I was supposed to get. I was a kickstarter backer and and ordered the Mercenary version of the game and It came with a bonus ship and I just cant find it and not really sure which it even was after this length of time. Wehn I go to GAL MAP I see the red triangle signifying my location but nothing else. Is it possible my bonus ship was removed by patches and updates over the course of time?

When you in the system with the red symbol, then got to the system map and look on which station it appears. Go to this station, enter station services and select the shipyard. Click on stored ships. Here you see your ships that you are not using and which are in this station. Since you have the mercenary pack there should be an Eagle for you. Select Options and you can chose if you want to swap the ships or if you want to sell the stored ship.

Ok I followed Yalls suggestions and I cant find my ship anywhere so something is wrong. what do you guys suggest and what should I do to make some money. So far ive practiced landing at stations and how to travel from place to place but no combat (Havent seen another ship yet) and I dont have the gear to mine anyting so what do I do

If you aren't in any hurry and want to learn some useful skills, try scavenging.

Fly around in supercruise and scan any USS you see. When you find threat 0 USS, drop in and scoop up any canisters floating around. Some may be illegal, so take these to a blackmarket to sell - an outpost is the easiest to smuggle into. You won't make much, but it's free and low risk.

At what stage did you actually buy the game?
Kickstarter, pre-launch, at launch or other?
For me the Kickstarter gave me the option to start in a Cobra III at the start screen or when resetting your save.
If you started in the Sidewinder you won't have the Cobra III waiting somewhere.
For the Viper III there is the possibility that you should have that somewhere.
That said these are both very cheap ships, relatively speaking.
It wouldn't hurt too much to forget about them.
In fact with all the changes you would probably benefit more if you reset your save and started again and really enjoyed the game from the beginning.
.
Edit: When I started a new Cmdr I traded stuff using my Sidewinder (sell the weapons) to get enough cash to update it gradually.
Then I did a CG in it which got me enough to get a Cobra III.

The bonus ship? Wasn't it a cobra mk iv just exclusively to buy?

The Cobra Mk IV will be available in the game only to players who joined us in the first year – forever. It’s our ‘thank you’ for your faith in the game.

So just available to buy and not stored somewhere for you. If you mean that bonus ship.

That will be the freagle they gave you early backers. Think the game gives you the option to start in an eagle rather than the standrard sidewinder. Not that you get an extra ship.

As Rex and Pyro have mentioned, I believe the ships that you received 'free' were in fact the opportunity to purchase these ships in-game with game credits you earn, either from the day zero when you start out, or at a time earlier than the rest of us. The Cobra Mk IV was a freebie with Horizons IIRC but I can't say for certain, and the Eagle was something that people got if they backed the game before release.

Please don't quote me on either of those points as accurate though as I can't be certain given the time passed. However the point I wanted to make was:- as a 'Mercenary' edition backer, you have access to these ships far earlier than other players would have done, via the shipyards in the stations, or by the way you initially register your CMDR and setup the game. They can't be found placed around the bubble or the galaxy in a way meaning you can switch between them in different places; they are just there for you to move your CMDR in to if you choose to, at an earlier stage than other CMDRs. I had the same advantage with the CM4 on purchasing the Horizons season pass, but I still haven't got around to actually going to a shipyard in-game and choosing to move into the ship so I have no idea if I would like to fly it or not!!

I hope that makes sense?! And please don't think my post to be critical as it isn't in the slightest. I do hope though that you are able to get on with, and into the game, as I think you will adore it. As others have mentioned, the scope is becoming huge and details are flourishing but there are still many things FD plan to and want to do with the game :) I do hope you will be amazed with the content improvements and additions to the game, and that you will enjoy as much as I do! Feel free to add me in-game as a friend if you so wish and I will gladly lend you a hand with starting out if I can, but I am sure you will be fine as you get going.

As always my friend, fly safe and enjoy the game; cheers,
The Hat :)

NO! The font is unreadable B and 8 and 3 all look like the same unreadable pixel blur! As with many more characters.

What resolution are you running the game at? Try a higher one if you can.

Stylised fonts making text ambiguous is not specific to locating the ships you own.

An older thread, but nevertheless...

There's a blur effect in the graphics settings I turn off to make in-game text a bit easier to make out. I play across the room from my screen. People would probably laugh at me if I told them my desktop resolution, and I even have good eyesight.

Anyway... maybe that'll help too.
