Where are the bombs?

I'd love it too.

Laser guided is a bit too easy though.
Very handy for multi-crew I'd imagine, but still very easy

I used to play Arma 3, often as a UAV pilot, it was a huge amount of fun bombing with laser guided assistance.
But, it was also "easy mode", as I could basically destroy most of the main objectives by myself. Lol

Dumb/gravity bombs would involve skill, and adjusting to the local gravity.
But they're obviously useless on most spaceships.
(Saying that, I dropped a bomb and a moving chopper in arms 3 once. Lol)

IMHO, if we had laser guided, it should come in the form of having an SRV on the ground, second ship, or multi-crew to paint the target for you.

I dropped an unguided 105mm shell onto a hovering chopper once. Greatest thing I've seen/done in arma3.

Bombs would be cool, many hoped mines would work this way but unfortunately that's not the case. Edit: apparently they do now so guess bombs won't be needed. I agree laser guided is too easy though.

I can laser designate or select a location for GPS bombs via TGP in DCS, I fail to see the issue here. This would just be an extension of weapon systems today in the future, and we have weapon platforms today that a pilot can designate and release munitions himself. Having multiple systems work together to accomplish the tasking isn't a bad idea. Having an SRV act as a FO could work as long if they could get that work with multicrew implementation.

The problem with free fall and slick bombs, today's general purpose dumb bombs like mk82's is that they're reliant on gravity to work. Gravity varies across the galaxy in ED so realistically the most likely alternative would be an ATGM like a Maverick. Rocket assisted bombs existed/exist IIRC.

All that to say, I don't see a good reason to force multicrew implementation for a weapon. Optional sure, but force no.
The freefall velocity of a 1000lb bomb in 0.001G could be as much as several metres a year! This is the best suggestion yet! #bombs4twopointthree
Yep, which is why ATGM's would be a better alternative to free fall bombs.

The better question is, why aren't plasma or other type of futuristic bombs implemented since we have planetary/base assault type missions?

Absolutely needed,
'Air' to ground bombs, missiles and maybe a utility hardpoint surface targeting module for allow weapons lock on ground targets

You know, when I read the title I thought "ENERGY BOMBS!!" and then thought "Bad idea, now".

The joys of being an '84 . . .
