Why doesn't My Ocellus have a ring attached?

These pictures all show a ring.

But My Ocellus has no ring.

I also notice that sometimes the ring is portayed at the end of the station, and sometimes directly behind the big ball.

This is probably a dumb question but, when you selected it for construction, there was no option for a ring? Were there any options at all (like how the other stations have military or agricultural etc)

You'll have to name the station "Stumpy Orbital" or something like that.

There are a few cut down stations like this in the galaxy. Kinesi has an Orbis which is basically a bike wheel, for example.

Maybe it'll gain one as system population increases.

My station was stumpy like this when i first built it and after awhile it's ring structure was built later. Hope this happens for you or yeah, name it Stumpy!

Huh! Thats interesting. Your station actually changed its physical appearance after being built.

My system is fairly advanced. HighTech and Development levels are fairly high. I wonder what could trigger the change. Maybe the presence of a specific facility. Also my wealth value is only 16.

Mine has a ring

I haven’t built an ocellus yet, but I can confirm that an orbis gets the ring. Maybe related to having an agriculture economy? The crops show up in the rings as they spin.
