Where can I find good sources of Exquisite Focus Crystals? Preferably cargo runs.

I’m in Ceos in my Cutter, but Exquisite Focus Crystals are super rare mission rewards, and most often are mission rewards for wing missions, or for mining. On the off chance that I actually find Exquisite Focus Crystals as a mission reward, they’re usually for wing missions: I don’t want to transfer 5,000+ tons of cargo for a few Exquisite Focus Crystals and 1 or 2 million credits.

Are there any more reliable sources for Exquisite Focus Crystals? I’d prefer cargo runs, but I have a couple combat ships.

Well, it's not missions, but I found plenty in HazRES dropping from elite anacondas.

You could also try a system at war/civil war and grab a few massacre missions. I recently maxed my EFC from one.

Any large boom system where you're allied with everyone should have a few EFC missions.

I get most of mine from popping the Deadly Anacondas sent after me on fetch missions, along with plenty of other less common mats.

For cargo runs specifically - Extraction economies. The Gold and Palladium haulage missions are all high-paying enough to allow G5 materials to be swapped in. I know a few very good systems for this, but unless you're willing to fly 22,000 LY as "set up" they won't be of much use to you. But just find an Extraction with some Industrial/High-Tech systems nearby and you should be able to get something out of it.

Elite- or Pioneer-ranked Surface Scan missions show up all over the place and also pay enough.

Robigo Mines (Medium Pad)to Sirius Atmospherics tourist beacon.
Plenty of Exquisite Focus Crystals and Biotech Conductors.

What about materials traders? Are there any High Grade Emissions materials that are relatively easy to find, that are valuable enough to make material trading worthwhile?

Yeah, this is good advice. I’ve been specialising in Palladium runs in isolated pockets of systems outside the bubble. Pays very well once allied and I’m swimming in Exquisite Focus Crystals – almost at full capacity.

I'd generally go the other way round - pick up EFCs and Biotech in bulk from missions, then trade across to G5s that rarely show up in HGEs.

That might change in 3.3 of course where it'll be easier to find HGEs.

Yup - plus kill anyone sent to interdict you - and they will drop more for you.

Unless they nerfed it my main source used to be G5 EFC and bioconductors as material trader conversion.

would get good sized stacks of each as rewards after 1-3 long sessions of cargo source missions.

I got most of my EFCs from sightseeing tours given out by allied factions. Used a cold running Dolphin with a size 5 first class cabin. Pay wasn't too bad either.

Seconding this. There are for sure lots of passenger missions with Exquisite Focus Crystals as a reward option.

Yeah, Robigo, you easily get 10-15 or more with a single passengers trip to sirius atmospheres! My record is 25 with a beluga

Passengers at Robigo will do it. It’s a very common reward for sightseeing missions there.

You can use a beluga doing passenger missions from robigo to sothis there's a tourist beacon there. Countless missions, money and grade 5 mats. A small ship will do also, I used to do them with a dolphin
