Where do I find Meta alloys?

there is only one place to buy meta-alloys: surface port darnielles progress in the maia system. fit exploration scanners and fuelscoop - it is a bit out of the bubble.

barnacles are in the same direction of maia - at least most of those we found.

Ye thats the station that was selling them yesterday, I guess they don't sell them all the time

I'm heading to Maia system as thats the only system that seems to sell them but both the link you sent and the trading app I have on my mobile are coming up blank

Thanks for the offer but I just noticed this thread is in the Xbox section (I'm on PC). Found it via search and never noticed the forum section it was in.
I've been in Darnell's Progress a couple of days and no luck on the Meta Alloy...so what is going on?! Can anyone provide some decent Intel as to whether it is better to just dig in and wait or go and try to harvest one from a Barnacle??!
I'm not a noon, but have been out of the loop until I bought Horizons the other day and it all seems like no one can really give anyone a clear answer!

Also looking and Inari is way out of date. Do FD not like us to play? Besides, how does one "Harvest a Barnacle"?
I have been led to believe, you find it and shoot it, but drop is RNG based.
I'm not in game at the moment, but purchasing them at Darnielle's Progress was supposed to be a temporary fix because the Barnacles had stopped dropping them and needed to be patched from Frontier. Perhaps they have finally fixed the Barnacles? If so, perhaps it's time to go find one on a planet surface and harvest Meta-Alloys the old fashioned way.

Just got a Meta Alloy from this location. There are two Barnacles and both were "active" for me.

I know this isn't a perfect solution... But upon some research, Farseer is actually not a particularly important engineer, unless you want lvl 5 shield mods.
For me, that's only a tertiary mod, so I'm not too fussed right now. Everything else the Farseer tree offers, is available elsewhere.
