Ships Where to find assets ?

The main thing is that it's just inconsistent.

In ship engineering all materials can be traded. And in suit engineering one of three types can be traded but all three types can be sold for credits implying they are transferrable and there is some kind of market for them. (and some have no other purpose but you'd have to guess which ones unless you're really into making spreadsheets.)

It's just so clearly an arbitrary choice to drag out the acquisition of the actually usable ones.

I haven't had much trouble with the tech\circuit\etc stuff. Just hoover it all up and trade. Boring, but doable.

The biggest issue is the data. They even seemed to have severely nerfed Irregular markers, so then it seems down to pure RNG. Unless someone has seen some kind of consistency between facility and downloads?

I can't find defense plans long enough. And for an engineer you need 15 of them :(

And also, like, almost on topic :)
I kept running out of storage so I bought a few T10s and crammed everything in there. Now I need rockets. How do I find them in Odyssey?

However, in Odyssey Goods, Assets and Data can be dropped and picked up later or by someone else! Thats new and allows for some interaction.
Consistent - Well Odyssey is somewhat separate anyway.
Edit: Question to self and others: Can items be dropped in the Concourse?

Haven't tested that yet.

For data, in the background during my normal work I lately went on an APEX cruise visiting military bases, as in my experience these have the most freely(security 0) accessible data points in habitats (up to 3 or 4 across multiple habitat buildings). Freely imporatant, as I really only select a destination, actually work something, and if I happen to have some time or a boring meeting I quickly run through the habitats. And then APEX to another base. Still trying to find two or three for a more effective loop.
Get a lot of the useless data stuff, but occasionally also some of the ones needed for unlocks or indeed for the upgrades/mods.
Maybe get 3 to 5 such runs into a homeoffice working day, but well. Perfect for mindless grind...

If someone has a set of locations with same or more freely accessible data points, post away.

Alternatively, I tried with "collection" missions - okay for the mission reward materials, but very hit and miss on free data ports - not unusual to end on a base where even the habitat is behind restricted access...
