Newcomer / Intro Where to sell gold

Hi all, i got a problem.. Every system that i go check to sell gold is actually exporting it instead of importing it.
What kind of system do i need to go to so i can sell my gold?
I'm getting kinda confused here cause i checked a lot of them which state that they import it

Recently I was selling gold in Asase Ya (Dreyer outpost - I don't know exactly, started with "D", though) with 1520Cr profit. :)

My problem was that not a single station would let me sell the gold that i had, i tried over 20+ systems.
Tried to relog and that fixed my problem.

The map lies quite often, but if you have higher grade metals, almost all High tech stations will buy it. You have to be lucky about the actual demand and prices, though.

When you are docked at the station and loo at the map, you can buy trade data for most of the systems around. That usually helps loads. :)

I'm quite surpised by this. Most stations I've encountered will be happy to buy gold (although getting a good price for it is a complete other story). It's finding stations who will sell commodities you need is the hard part... I'm probably in an industrial sector though (starting point - eravate - lhs3447)

But are they refinery or extraction thats not the place to sell

A wealthy, huge population, high tech world will likely net you a nice profit selling gold. Highest profit I have seen for gold is 1599/t, for palladium almost 1800/t.
