No, I fly Oddyssey. As for the open play aspect of it, do you fly Horizons-only by any chance? I noticed that there is way less traffic there compared to Odyssey, and people tend to forget that the two client modes do not support cross-instancing.

Like already others mentioned, come to Sol, Deciat or Shin... and hang around there for DAYS if needed. Im sure you will get what you lookin for... sooner or later. And even, why not? I want to die.

Go to any Kumo Crew station, order some burgers and run off, wait outside in your ship, im sure that will work.I said I wanted to face pirates, not psychopaths.![]()
Not everyone's as sweaty as you are.I have a feeling I'd be in more danger walking my dog in the park
I went to Deciat multiple times in all of my early ships, pirates didn't chase me there.Like already others mentioned, come to Sol, Deciat or Shin... and hang around there for DAYS if needed. Im sure you will get what you lookin for... sooner or later.
I once saw a post like that on steam, they were complaining that care-bear mode (soloNot everyone's as sweaty as you are.
Almost exactly half a year ago there was a steady player of Elite complaining that the NPCs, both Human and Thargoid, were too hard.
And essentially did a soft "rage quit" if you want to call it that.
That player is someone who just wants a laid back Pachinko-like experience, where they can operate controls with one hand and eat a sandwich with the other as the game clears their mind of whatever happened during the salaryman's workday.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if FDEV here and there spews in an "anything-goes-day", where every mode is linked together? No warning, no schedule, just at random you suddenly see other CMDRs while in solo. Imagine the salt mountain, the rage quits, the forum PVP. Like the purge, but in Elite. If I'd want to see this place burn, this would be my plan. Oh, maybe also with an announcement of a new "purge-immunity" ARX package.I once saw a post like that on steam, they were complaining that care-bear mode (solo) wasn't care-bear enough because they were getting ganked by NPC's.
Sure as long as we can have an all modes PVE day, bet the salt mountain would be higherWouldn't it be hilarious if FDEV here and there spews in an "anything-goes-day", where every mode is linked together? Well, in reality, we may be to blame for that (I'm almost 60)... we wanted to raise our children safely and we overprotected them with so many corner protectors and power strips, doing what in my country (Spain) we call "hombres blandengues" (soft men). Not everyone's as sweaty as you are.

It's not that the danger went away. You just got better at flying, recognizing threats, and how to avoid them.I have a feeling I'd be in more danger walking my dog in the park.
Until not long ago, carrying out transport missions with a Type-9 required even one or two commanders from your community to escort you to your destination. Now, however, I've made a couple hundred trips between Ngobe, Kehperagwe, and my own system, and I've barely been interdicted by a single, defenseless cobra.
In my desperate boredom, I've played in the open, hoping a ganker would give me a scare, but not even that!
I want to feel fear! I want to flee with scorched shields and the feeling of a narrow escape... I want the thrill of yesteryear, when you prepared for the worst when you entered the destination system. I want that feeling of injustice when you were interdicted 12 mm from the station.
And even, why not? I want to die.

Really? Over about 8 years I haven't noticed any obvious change in threat levels. There are still missions which have multiple pirates turning up. It was always the case that if you didn't have cargo, NPCs would scan you and leave. I think the danger is just system and activity dependent as it always was. There used to be more danger. People complained.
Might I take this moment to assure our delightful PvP community that I for one have never doubted the threat they represent, and will thus require no such reminder myself? If the game is too boring for you, I am sure we can arrange for someone to follow your T-9 around in a G5 murder boat.
PvP sure is the most challenging aspect of the game. But is it really part of the game? What purpose does it serve? What progression does it bring?Might I take this moment to assure our delightful PvP community that I for one have never doubted the threat they represent, and will thus require no such reminder myself?![]()
