which animal in planet zoo do you think that still need Reskins or remodify???

for me , i think is the african lion , spotted hyenas and african wild dog... i think their appearance is almost perfect , but still not very perfect yet .. especially the hyenas.. their builds / they look small compare to the real hyenas. the sloped musculature

and the african lion , the one in game look very cartoonish

  1. I don't like the permanent smile on the West African lions, so I would remove that and diversify the color and style of male lion manes.
  2. Asian elephants need more skin pattern variation. Real Asian elephants have beautiful patterns, usually an orangish color.
  3. Painted dogs and zebras definitely need significantly more patterns as well. Ideally they would become randomly generated instead of picked from a set pool.
  4. Baby cheetahs, jaguars and Nile monitors are in desperate need of new skins and remodeling.

Yes I agree with you , planet zoo need to reskin some animals


BTW Do you know that there are some mods that got good reskin mods outside planet zoo .

There are reskins for Bengal tiger , African lion ,jaguar ,cheetah , gray wolves ,spotted hyenas arctic wolves , cheetah and etc ...

Is called better carnivore mods ...

Which I can't say the website here I believe...

But use it at your own risk

Better Carnivores is a mod pack containing overhauls of most of the game's carnivorans. Timber Wolves, Arctic Wolves, Jaguars, Cheetahs, African Wild Dogs, Hyenas, and Grizzly Bears have all been redone, to be as close to realistically accurate as possible, removing much of the "stylized"/"cartoon" look some of the animals have. Many of these animals have received revamps to their juvenile models as well.

I hope planet zoo will work with those modders one day ...

So that we can have more fences/barriers /foliages , tank wall ,more animal and animal reskin in the future ...

I do absolutely agree that the male Lion needs to be changed.

Also Nile Monitors aren't as colorful as they are in the Game (didn't see the Variations yet).

The Himalayan Brown Bear needs to have thicker Fur than the Grizzly and it should be way brighter (didn't see the Variations of this Species too).

The Wolf needs more Variations (including a darker Face).

We should also get Polar Bears that aren't perfectly white. I've never seen a completely white adult Polar Bear in Captivity (I think they are also only rarely completely white in their natural Environment).

It seems like the West African Chimpanzee can have brown Fur so I would like this as a Variation. Also Variations with darker Faces.

I like that they added slightly grey Variations to the Warthog because I've never seen a brown Warthog. All Warthogs I've seen yet are grey (but we don't have them in Captivity where I live)

I'm not completely sure about the other Animals because I still need to wait for a Part to repair my Computer, so I can't really look it up.

You will see changes in the game ...

And it work as what they mentioned ... You will see a slight improvement to the animal you mentioned ... overhaul...

I don't want to use Mods in Planet Zoo (at least not yet). Also it doesn't fix all of the Species I've mentioned

For the moment I’d prefer the devs concentrate on adding more new animals rather than reworking ones we already have. None of the ones already in game desperately need changing.

Yeah I'm in agreement there. I can see that some of the animals aren't perfect in terms of design, and that's fine, but I don't really see how it's a matter of urgency. Maybe one day when the game's life is over and modding is less perilous some creative person out there can overhaul all the animals (my issue with ZT2 modding was that half the game wound up looking sleek and new and the other half was still cartoonish - would hate to see that in PZ).

The only animal i really dont like is the jaguar cub. But many animals need more skins and some a better way to walk (the okapi for example). But probably they will never change, Some things were made in a not so good way, but I'm starting to think that they don't really care about them

Things that I think could use some work (but I do not demand them as they would be low priority):
  • size of camels and bisons - most of them are tiny.
  • Jaguar pelt - seems like the fur is too long which sometimes make their fur pattern look really weird/blurry.
  • Hyena seem so...small / thin / not muscular enough - not sure how to describe, I just feel something is off regarding the hyenas model.

I do not expect them to change the models though, maybe the camel/bison size but thats all. Generally the animals are beautifuly done.
