Which animals do you use more often in your zoos?

Hello friends, I am not seeing enough CATS in this thread!

My ultimate zoo would be any and all cats. What’s over there? A cat. What’s this way? A cat. What’s everyone looking at here? Also a cat.

Please let me know when you’ve all started using cats more. 😁😻
Of all the ones we currently have in the game, the only species I use in every single zoo without fail is the Snow leopards. I love making multi-dimensional habitats with varied heights, so they along with the Dall sheep are a must have for every zoo I make. Mountain animals ftw!

Great choice, lest we forget the incredible unsung hero that is the Dall Sheep 🐏

I tend to use all the cats as well. I mean, lions and tigers are a staple of most zoos (still wish we had the Sumatran tiger rather than the Bengal, but alas!), and since we don't have any smaller cats (lynx, servals, caracals, and so on) the snow leopard and jaguar are must-haves. I can go either way on the cheetah - usually it depends on how much space my African sections have, as I love to use the hyena when I can as well (it is usually a choice between the cheetah and hyena for me).

@Chante Goodman Now that I think of it, some of my most used animals are also smaller species, like the lemurs, Nile monitor, and pangolin. They let us make our zoos more dynamic, and fill in smaller areas between bigger habitats. Thank you tons for including them! This is why I'd LOVE if we could get more small animals in the future. You reminded me how much I'd love a smaller cat species, like the lynx, ocelot, or sand cat. I use the big cats a lot, but the smaller cats deserve love, too! (In fact, I've got a small cat purring on my lap right now. He fits between my arm and laptop and watches me play Planet Zoo all the time.)

So I admittedly hope you guys haven't ruled out species like sand cats, fennec foxes, meerkats, or platypus as habitat animals, due to their size. Their size is actually a reason I think they should be included. Speaking of small mammals: If bats were an exhibit species, I'd also get tons of use out of those! :D

I second this. One of my cats (I have three), loves to sit in front of the screen whenever I watch bears closely. Any type. Black bear, Himalayan bear, grizzly bear... I honestly do not know why she is obsessed with bears :D She has absolutely no interest in any other zoo animal, including cats.
My biggest tom cat prefers JWE though. He loves the dinosaurs, but even more the helicopter. We watch BestInSlot JWE lets plays sometimes, and the combination of Conors voice and dinos lets Jaro purr. Obviously, my cats can do advertisments for Frontier games....

I love big cats and I want to have small cats in the game too, especially the Iberian lynx. Tigers and lions are usually found in all my zoos. However, since they can't be mixed with other animals and their group number is usually limited to 2 (except the lion), I think that some players prefer to use other animals for more creative habitats including a larger amount of animals.

Honestly? This might be a weird reason, but I'd love to build habitats with netting for some of them, as seen in many zoos. The fact that we don't have any, makes me use them less. It's ridicolous, but that's a bit like my brain functions. Hence the reason for elephants. Elephant houses can be sooo beautiful and the sound changes from indoor and outdoor are top notch in this game

African Wild Dogs I use in basically every zoo (I love them so much).

Timber wolves and red panda are also very common for me and I tend to have either the gharial or saltwater croc in most zoos. I've only recently got the Australian DLC but I suspect Dingos,Kangaroos and Koalas are all going to be used a lot.

Cat ladies (and men!) unite! I have two cats myself and they play PZ with me all the time. 🐱

Not much of a cat person (sorry!) 😅

I really love bears, but I try and not overuse in the game. I actually study bears atm in real life, and they are just the best

When it comes to cats I would use them more often if there were more different species such as Servals, Ocelots, Pumas and Fishing Cats
