Engineers are coming soon™ with the beta just around the corner, I was wondering which engineer specialty you are most looking forward to?

For me it will come as no surprise that I will be getting friendly with the frame shift drive engineer(s)? Distance is everything out in the far flung reaches of the Galaxy. That extra % boost just might get me to that cluster that requires a 95ly jump!

So cast your vote and feel free to add a comment on why you chose your particular engineer.

Cheers

FSD Engineer will be getting some serious love from me ;) If we can get some meaningful upgrades from him/her/it then I could take a few ships out of retirement that I generally don't fly due to rubbish jump ranges taking up too much of my time!

Anything else is a bonus, although I would say that a Thruster upgrade would be nice! Anything giving more speed and manoeuvrability ;)

Yep, no question the FSD will win this one. It's not only interesting for explorers, but also (or perhaps even more) for traders.

I have the need for speed and my ship is painted red,
so naturally i am waiting for tuning my thrusters!!!

My secondary choice will be the weapons guy, i need higher refire rate
to even better make use of small time-frames increasing the effective fire
on vulnerable modules;)

I've already asked FD for Fluffy Dice! There is a thread on it! Also the Canopy Decal - Like the idea of more spotlights! Yes air freshener and also the graphic equalizer must have at least 10 bands! :D

Do you think engineer upgrade quality will be based on your elite rank? The three I can think of where this would apply (totally guessing numbers btw)

Trade rank:
-increases cargo rack capacity, (Increase based on your rank, Penniless 5% increase - all the way up to Elite 25% increase).
-Reduces module weight 5-25%

Combat rank:
-Increases weapon damage, 5-25%
-Increases Armor/Shield capacity 5-25%

Exploration Rank:
-Increases FSD jump range 10-50% :)
-Increases sensor/scanner range 5-25%

I wonder if you would be required to upgrade each individual module? In other words if you want to upgrade 4 cargo racks, would you need to bring supplies for each individual one? Or will it be the case of, once unlocked, they all just become available at the engineers location and you can buy as many as you want?

Sweet!

I need a purple low-rider with neon running lights with      carpet dash and fuzzy fringe! It'll be easy to get interdicted as pirates just need to follow the 'boom boom boom boom boom boom' incessantly transmitted on all comms frequencies in every direction.

Weapons.I now fly mostly on a Vulture and anything I can add to my twin lazors would be awesome. Because, lazors. Now, where should I go to read more about Engineers... hmmm...
