Which ship has the smallest landing footprint that can handle on SRV?

Which ship has the smallest landing footprint that can handle on SRV?

Clarification: I mean the smallest footprint, can hold an SRV, and still be decently equipped. Decently equipped means shields, a cargo bay so you can cash in, and the fuel to get there and back.

Sidewinder?! Really?!

I am going to guess at Keelback, but ship size is really hard to gauge. If you want facts, try the Wiki, that has the ship dimensions

[Ah poop, thought it said SLF]

By smallest, I assume you mean smallest total mass?

That would actually be the Hauler, at 14T Mass it's actually smaller then the Sidewinder (25T).

Any ship can hold an SRV.

And the prize goes to Conch ... congratulations ... you won a free trip to the nebula of your choice ...

To Infinity & Beyond ...

If you want some more utility than a Sidewinder and still have a small footprint, I'd propose the Viper IV to you. It also comes with good vertical thrusters to chew down on those high g's.

At least your answer was the one that wasn't just a flying shell with an SRV inside. I can see a hauler fitting the bill.

Really - and properly equipped (i.e. 2A enhanced drived), that little Sidey can become quite nasty.

If you want more internals - the largest little ship would be the Dolphin. Still can land anywhere, can haul significant cargo (64 tons, shield, SRV, scanners) and handles almost as good as the Sidey. Just don't use it if you want to shoot someone.

For me, "properly equipped" would mean the following mandatory modules:-
1) Disco scanner.
2) Fuel Scoop.
3) Shields.

If you want to run an SRV and cargo-rack in addition to the above, you're going to need a ship with at least 5 internal slots.

That being the case, the smallest suitable ship would be something like an Adder or a Viper 4.

Personally, for the role of lightweight-multirole, I'd always go for an iCourier or a DBX.
iCourier for speed and DBX for jump-range.

*EDIT*

Might be worth saying, depending on what you want to do with the ship, you might not need an SRV just for collecting stuff off a planet's surface.
The "cheese wedges" (Sidey, Viper, Cobra) are especially good at scooping stuff off the surface with their cargo scoops.

If you are basically looking for the best ship to take out to the new (Impossible to land at) Guardian Sites, I would recommend the Diamond Back Explorer. It has a very small footprint, but also one of the highest jump range potentials in the game.

Mine does just under 60Ly with an SRV loaded up. Perfect for getting way out to those distant sites quicker than anything else in the game. :)
