Which ship is the best for doing long haulage missions?

The Hauler! :)

When you have lakon 6 or above the recent haul missions will become pointless since you can earn 100k+ credit trading goods from station to station meanwhile the mission only gives maybe "9k" reward.

This is true to an extent, its all about the profit per ton. Even while I'm running gold or palladium making 155k+ I'll still check the bulletin board. But the mission must meet the requirements of: A) being delivered to the same destination as I am already headed to (or to a scheduled fuel stop) and B) have a greater profit per ton. Only then will I spare the room in my cargo hold.

You might be getting "9k" for a single ton of cargo. So far the best profit per ton I have seen through regular commodities trading is roughly 1.5k.

Also the missions are in their most basic incarnation at the moment.

I would expect later on to there to be linked to reputation so when you have done a certain amount of hauler missions you get more and more lucrative hauling.

I am running them at the moment to explore the galaxy with at least some money coming in and to test the missions themselves.

Also I got lucky today and there was the "despartely needed" mission which was offering 500 creds more than the market price and I had hauled 50tons of the stuff there.

So it was rinse and repeast about 25 times until the mission was removed and it was an extra 12.5k.
