Who is Cmdr Logoffsky

Here's how I want solo to be different from open:
I want the Python nerf undone in solo.
I want the missile nerf undone in solo.
I want the railguns to have a higher ammo count in solo than they do in open; possibly unlimited like they did in beta.
I want PAs to have no ammo count in solo (they're energy weapons blast it, they use contained reactor plasma! As long as you have fuel you have 'ammo' for them.)

If they make things work like they're supposed to in solo (and let private groups pick and choose; one guess which way Mobius will go), then they can nerf stuff in Open all they want as far as I'm concerned.

You do realize you just undermined the whole point of modes being equal and valid proposed by FD... right?

Considering that FDev gets complaints from both sides as a result, they might eventually reconsider. I would pretty much prefer a true solo mode where I cannot go to Open, can use whaever mods I want (playing this game without auto-pilot really sucks and there were some banned tools for that).

Right, because people just LOVE to be forced to do things they don't want to do, and will TOTALLY keep playing the games that do that junk!

All you'll do that way is run off your player-base; if anything, there will be even fewer traders in Open for you to torment. People who get 'forced' tend to just quit, and treating us like a problem that needs to go away is just going to get you shouted down.

I just love being forced into continual interdictions, too. :(

Back on track: the bounty system is borked.

So you're telling me players with a high bounty aren't intrested in combat?
If you don't do combat you won't really get a bounty high enough to get hunted.
Frankly, the ability to invade other players instances alá Souls-style would be awesome.
I'd get me a bounty just for players to hunt me down if it wouldn't just disappear after a few days.

It is a bit silly that the bounty board lists a CMDR who isn't actually in *your* galaxy, I really like mode switching, think it is a wonderful option to give to players and abhor the idea of forcing anyone into any mode. That said, open players should show up on the open bounty board, and then just the ones who are on, private can have people within that group with bounties and if they want, fill it with NPCs, solo could have NPCs on there. I'd also like to see it applicable to bounties running around in just the local area, I mean, how is it the whole galaxy knows about this dude's bounty yet I can't get to the credit trade prices for a station two systems away?

As far and the potential for "gold farming" like this goes, meh, I suppose if you want to do that go for it, that is between you and FDev. You will probably end up getting bounties for killing clean NPCs at a slower rate than I will claim bounties for killing wanted/CZ NPCs.

I would classify that as Someone Who Gave FD Doublemonies To Play With Themselves.

Are you being judgmental about people who play with themselves?

There will always be criticism and argument as long as FD insists on allowing progress in each mode of play to be carried into the other modes. This has been discussed to death and FD has consistently affirmed that this is their policy and have not intention of changing it. It's long past the time to complain about it and just learn to accept the reality of it and learn to take advantage of things as they are in that it's not going to change.

Because crime penalties are meaningless and amount to nothing more than re-buy cost of the current ship you're in, the only remedy sensible would be to implement iron man mode which they discussed during DDF and never followed through on. Like so many other things. Rather than focus on sensible game play and fixing things that have been complained about since Alpha, FD has adopted the easy way out of just creating more shinny, buggy stuff aimed at sucking in new players.

I hope the 20% of you who enjoy Power Play are happy.

I know I am, because the moment it dropped I headed out to the void to work on Exploration. Happy as a clam seeing the sights 24k LY's out from the mayhem. See you all when I get back - no wait - sorry, I'll be in Solo mode when I return so as not to lose months' worth of data by some 13 yr old ganker who has nothing to lose by killing an unarmed explorer.

If a ganker has nothing to lose - why shouldn't I have the same privilege?

More succinctly: The bounty boards are useless.

This needs to be fixed asap. Only list bounties for CMDRs that are currently in game and playing OPEN. If that is too impractical, then there should be NPCs spawned that match the notoriety and rank of the CMDR in question that haunt the region near the listed system(s).

Not at all; sock-makers need customers.

That makes The Lost Sock Dimension even scarier...

Correct. Now, if there was only a developer who talked to players, and was good at AI... :(
