How is cliffs of dover? I heard it was a flop.. Been waiting for a really good BoB simulator WITH a dynamic campaign.
it requires a lot of personal effort to get it working.
A mob called Team Fusion have been working on fixing flight models, and bringing other things in.
There are like 4 patches to install, but it's lovely to be in, and very challenging.
A small but collegial community, and some really great pilots. There's a few that have moved here to Elite.
I got pretty good at the Blenheim Mk 4 light bomber, and there were some really big raids organised. Like 17 bombers with escorts vs about the same German fighters. No NPCs.
But yeah, the community was getting thin on the ground, the game is basically abandonware We are all tired of the wait for more content like the Wellington bomber.
But DCS the WW2 environment isn't good. The other products are set around Stalingrad and Moscow. And nothing else set in WW2 generates that discussion of authenticity and you know- like how when Elite gets something almost perfect, and the forums explode with hate - that's what the flight model discussions are like.
I just loved how you could do real flight planning, and then use that.
I had vintage maps, and old Soviet stopwatches, E6B flight computers, scale rulers, the full box and dice.
