Who liked the planetary surfaces

Im actually more or less avoiding the forums entirely because I am grinding and playing more lately than Ive done in years, 6 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week because...Im motivated by what Im seeing and its giving me goals like a T10 to beagle point sorta thing...obviously such things do not grow on trees and one has embraced the grind to make such things a reality.

I do not complain about grind...I enjoy it sometimes but one has to be in the right frame of mind. The improvements to exploration and what Im seeing...thats what motivated me.

And best of all...Im in open 100% of the time now cos Im in a dbe with dirty drive whatever and Im now faster than they are anyway.

The point? Checked the forum...its like the river of slime from Ghostbusters only its not slime, its a river of salty tears fer which I care little for atm, which is possibly quite beneficial cos I know Id enjoy it too much and Im lovin this game too much to talk moan about it...I might be in danger of having to admit I was wrong after all and my skepticism was wrongly placed...proof enough perhaps on its own merit by the fact Im playing again...and then some.

This is about the one cool happy thread that gets one of me little rants before back to the grindstone...cya in the black cmdr ^

Uhm. I think they played on console on the stream.

Also planets look amazing! Looking forward to see them for myself!

Everything they actually showed looked great. The test is going to be in how that variety holds over many many planet surfaces.

I liked what I saw in only 720p knowing it will be so much better to see it live. Just recently I've been to a planet with a very deep canyons, I mean like really big valleys full of fog you can fly through. I like this kind of rare discoverys and they should look so much better now.

It leaves me with on question: Bevor 2.2 the fog has been even colored on rare occasions. I wonder if we get changes to fog, too.

I care only detail when i am on ground. For now it is really poor. Textures are super poor.
Actually who care distance if planet landings are meant exactly on planet surface itself.
So 100% closer details should be improved!

Far out they looked great, the stream i was watching seemed to be having trouble as he came closer to the surface it looked like the streaming software was having issues.

While some cant use a joypad at all and think of it as inferior, its not...the problem is them not the joypad. I use one fer both pc and console...KnM is good fer some stuff but fer elite, I found the joypad a helluva lot easier to use than even the hotas and the KnM combo ^

Agreed. I think the only place where a KnM is better is first person shooters, but for me Driving games, flight games etc are much better with a joypad in my view. But for driving games I still prefer my steering wheel and Hotas for ED, but I wouldn't necessaily call them superior, thats all down to personal choice in the end.

Fer an actual simulator, then hotas is king...always has been always will be. Fer pc shooters, KnM is the mutts nuts and fer driving games, ye cant beat a wheel and pedal system. I have all these things already...and yet I still use a joypad fer elite on both platforms...its even called an 'elite' joypad and has cute little paddles to customise layouts with.

And while one can just plug it in and go with the default settings, it really shines when ye take some time to run through all the various binds ^
