I noticed there's an option to not have the compute shades load everytime you start the game. Is there any advantage to leaving this option on other than the very first time you run the game or update drivers?

Sweet, if there's no advantage to it I'll turn it off then. You only need it on in the two cases you listed and one other afaik. The other case is on updates to the game.
Well in that case I'll leave it on thenthe option controls when the shaders are loaded. On-demand or on startup of the game. If you do it on-demand, these shaders not currently loaded will load when needed ...causing a pause in some cases when something like a planet comes into view.
Loading all the shaders at startup makes the startup time take a bit longer (compiling only occurs if needed) but the shaders are ready to use in the game without having to request the load.
If you have gobs of ram (who doesn't anymore?) and a half decent video card. It's always better to load at startup.

Even more info... thanks. Its no biggie either way, they load pretty quickly. Maybe I'll just not temp fate and leave it since the game has been running great .
I leave it on auto.
If the game feels like loading them then it can and does.
It doesn't bother me as it is so fast anyway. On my PC It takes a few seconds at most.

well, at my place it is almost a minute, so it is bigger for me; how can i put it off (and is that wise, kind of looks like not??)
HELP!
I have 3 accounts, with the SHADER PREPARATION ON STARTUP turned OFF, but in all 3 accounts, it still performs the shader preparation. Does anyone know how I can turn it off?
Note. I know it will do it regardless, if I change my graphics card, drivers, or after a game update, and I'm cool with that.
