Who would start playing CQC if this one change was made?

Nope...

I would start playing CQC, if the following conditions were met :

- Arcade Rank removed from right Ship Panel in the main game. Doesn't belong there, this space shall be reserved for the actual Pilots Federation Ranks. Can display there when running CQC of course, that's its rightful place.

- on top of its Arcade - Skirmish Modes (which can stay), it needs to become an actual Simulator
-> test-fly any Ship (Standard Operations)
-> test-fly any Ship in any environment you select/setup
-> setup custom or preset scenarios, where you can fly any Ship build (incl. any Engineer Mods) and thoroughly test anything you like, from Exploration over Mining to Combat of any type
-> Simulator Battles (1v1 upto 8v8) with preset or historic scenarios, reliving the large-scale Battles of ELITE lore or just have two Players Groups toss it out in a Benchmark environment

Then I'd be sure to check it out and use it regularly.

I feel is too detached from the game.
For me it would be awesome if it was inside the game, where CQC matches were an event in certain systems and you can play against players and NPC´s alike (overly buffed NPCs, mind you). Like the Citadel DLC in ME3 ranking matches (I couldnt think of a better example).

Anyway. In game it would make more sense. You could earn money and if you rank high enough you could get Engineered modded weapons as a price.
IMO.

Bigger payouts!!!

I honestly feel like CQC would have a thriving amount of players and be completely (largely?) revived if it paid out like 50-100k per game based on performance. It's not that people didn't have fun in CQC.. the problem was that you'd play for hours and walk away with 3000 credits. I know it's not *always* about the money.. but the only rewarding part of CQC was the fast-paced fighting.. which I, personally loved! It's just so hard finding games now because so many people abandoned it after a few matches feeling unfulfilled. Even if the payouts scaled based on back-to-back consecutive matches.. like a snowball. Something like:

Game 1: 100% payout (10k)
Game 3: 150% payout (15k)
Game 5: 200% payout (20k)
Game 10: 500% payout (50k)
Game 20: 1000% payout (100k)
*with obvious scaling +/- for how well you placed. I think these type of numbers could definitely draw some players back into the fray!

If no one's playing it already.. might as well test higher payouts and see if all that work FDev put into CQC gets some good play time, right!? :)

What do y'all think? Would you come back to CQC if it were an actual profitable way to play the game?

I would play CQC (a few times) if it had bots.
In general CQC is not my thing. The full game offers what I really want from ED. In my view CQC is a gimmick that has nothing to do with ED.
The current multiplayer character of it is not something that will seduce me ever.
I am too old for that now.

Let us use our own ships and I would play CQC often... I would love to use my Anaconda in PvP combat if not for the rebuy in the real game, I just don't want to risk $30M everytime soI usually just avoid being interdicted or high wake.

If there were ever anybody in it I'd play.
Been here over a year now, still never a single match, never seen more than 2 people in the queue, and even that was a fluke I think.

Same, never see anyone about.

CQC was a dud Idea, should be stored away until fixed by people who play ED

Way misses the mark. I'll never play it, no matter what the payouts, if I have to stare at a dumb "looking for match" screen for an interminable (and indeterminate) amount of time.

If Im going to play CQC I want to play it *right now;* if I am feeling patient and have tons of time to set aside then I'll just play the main game.

Bots would fix this problem. Failing that, let us queue for a match from the main game using the same menu as multicrew.

No other system of incentives or enticements or nuisance or nuisance messages are going to make me play CQC. It's supposed to be dumb simple instant-gratification fun, and it fails at that.

I am willing to wait a maximum of two minutes for a guaranteed game at the end of that time.

Quite frankly I'd never play CQC no matter what was added or changed, they could offer me 10bn credits a game and I still wouldn't bother. but that's just me, I play Elite or nothing, not some silly 'tacked on' arcade game.

I have never played it although I would try it if there was a bot option to get used to the maps and gameplay first. I don't fancy going in blind.

The other problem is that there is always too much that I want to do in the main game and seem to have a limited time to fit it all in per week.

I once clicked on it by mistake. Then task killed the game. OH my I CL out of CQC.

So that's a no from me. Dont think there is anything they could do to it that would make my want to play it for any reason.

I have a hard time believing the hate towards cqc. I like it but there is hardly anybody ever there. It needs to be integrated into the game like arena games, preferably with payouts. Add bots and a system champion name (similar to discovered by) and watch people fight like madmen.

Money? Seriously? Money isn't very hard to come by in game, so there's little incentive to play CQC for it.

Unlock special decals? Maybe.
Unlock special engineer mod tokens, good for a guaranteed experimental? Probably.
Allow people to gamble credits on matches? Now you're talking!

Gameplay really isn't that compelling. No combat in game looks anything like this, so it's not exactly fulfilling a training need. I played it for an hour or so not long after it launched, and really found nothing to draw me back in. At the day, my CQC peasant ranking in my status panel is a badge of honor.

I love the idea of unlocking decals. Paintjobs would be nice as well.

CQCC should be a place where I can practise fighting in peace. Bot's would be nice, but failing that, anonymity would also be good. I don't mind the death of a thousand laserbolts when nobody can tell it was me that experienced such a humiliating defeat,

Fight like madmen to get away from it. I have a hard time believing that some people can read others comments and then completely ignore them as if they didn't exist because they don't "believe" them. Nothing would get me to take part in CQC. Placing benefits or "features' in CQC that were unavailable to people who detest that sort of gameplay would just lead to resentment and even more hate towards it. Money sure, couldn't give a fig, it's plentiful anyway, the rest I wold just ignore, you couldn't pay me to do it!

The only way I'd play it would be if it was moved into the main game with an annual circuit around various systems. You risk your real ships and the rebuy but you get real payouts. It's a real career and you can get sponsored by factions to cover your rebuy and supply you with experimental ships if you're good enough. Then that rank would be justified being in the game.

If all that came, then I'd be crossing my fingers for the buckyball racing league to become an actual thing too.

Nope. Never. I don't do PvP. Ever. For any reason. Don't need it, don't want it, don't know why they thought it was a good idea. Not surprised that a PvP mode in a predominately PvE game failed miserably.
