I'm still playing in pure VR on Odyssey.
One advantage of the Pimax headsets is that they have a very wide field of view (170degs) and the 2D projection in the headset for on foot, whilst not as good as the in cockpit experience, is still very immersive, as it covers more view real estate than even my triple screen setup would provide.
I would guess the only immersion killer is the black screen transition and re-centering that inevitably happens between seated and standing, but that jarring moment goes after about 10 seconds and I'm immersed again (even in the standing direction).
Whilst I would love Frontier to give us more VR on foot than we have now and I sincerely hope that they do so, I will perservere with what we have, as 2D gaming leaves me as cold as wireframe versus textured 3D did in the late 80's, when we went through that transition.
