Why are all stations in Sirius under lockdown?

I'm trying to unlock Marco Qwent so I can unlock Prof. Palin, but all of the stations are under lockdown and aren't offering missions. (I have tried all the stations)

Bounty hunt & sell bounties locally for the faction under lockdown. It will be player activity, and can be opposed, or just wait a few days for the lockdown to end :)

Sirius corp has many systems under their controll. Rep does not need to be earned in Sirius...
Any of their Systems Will Give rep with the faction... and in all of these systems the same rep boost will be applied...
  • Procyon, 5.23Ly
  • Luyten's Star, 5.79Ly
  • Luhman 16, 7.70Ly
  • Luyten 674-15, 11.56Ly
  • Ross 446, 19.87Ly
  • LHS 1951, 21.02Ly
  • RR Caeli, 21.13Ly
  • LHS 2065, 21.32Ly
  • Lu Yupik, 25.60Ly
But if you did not take part in the CG you will be losing the permit that was given as a temp offer so those who wanted to do the CGs with out the permit could...
Once it runs out you will not be able to re-enter Sirius untill you re-earn the permit correctly again...
Systems with in 15 lyrs can offer the permit again once you are allied...

Because of the recent NMLA attacks on high-profile stations, Sirius is temporarily in a full lockdown, and you won't be able to unlock Marco Qwent until it ends. Exactly how long this takes is hard to tell, probably no more than a couple of weeks.

Qwent's blueprints are all obtainable (at higher levels) from other engineers who are still accessible, so you can go that way if you need them in a hurry.
Power Distributor: The Dweller (easy), or Etienne Dorn (easy, but a bit of a detour)
Power Plant: Hera Tani (fairly easy), or Etienne Dorn again

Normally good advice - in this case the Lockdown was imposed by the wider plot, so it might be that it won't end until Sirius feels safe from NMLA attacks. Worth a try.

No, but the engineer unlock mission can only be found in Sirius itself, and therefore needs mission boards in Sirius to be giving out missions (rather than just accepting them, which is sufficient to obtain the system permit)

I, uh, fixed your post a bit 🤣 ;)
I have a carrier headed out that way tomorrow. Problems are that jumps happen around work schedule, so may be... intermittent and I have a full (25000) load of Tritium and no facilities installed so accommodation is "Spartan". All stowaways welcome. 😊

A little girl rejected the offer to play with her brother Henson. One thing led to another and the NMLA ended up dropping nine enzyme bombs on the sovereign stations of the Empire, Federation and Alliance.

This unlock quest is an unnecessary and infuriating block. Allied with Sirius. System permit. 35 modular consoles on board an unarmed python so no combat options unless I want to forfeit cargo needed for the unlock to change ships. Sirius has been in lockdown for a week preventing the Marco unlock mission. Well played quest designers. F you and the horse you rode in on!

Do something else instead.
Oh, and coming here calling FD names won't help.

Yes, dad. So I just dump the MTs that I ground to collect because FD exposed the unlock to a bunch of contingencies intentionally or otherwise? Very unhelpful advice.
There are a bunch of single-mission ways to get 25 MTs at once, so obtaining them again could be very quick if you got lucky. Selling them and coming back later isn't a bad option.

If you can find someone friendly with a carrier, they could hang on to them for you for a while.

You only need 25T, so you could keep the Python as your active ship, re-outfit it for combat (one size 5 internal as a cargo hold isn't going to significantly reduce your combat capability) and go bounty hunting in the Sirius system with it - this will help the lockdown end faster.

You only need 25T and you're flying a Python which can carry over 200T in a haulage fit, so you could do the haulage-based unlock requirements for some other engineers while you wait.

There's probably someone selling modular terminals from their carrier, so you might be able to buy new ones later that way.

You could give up on the whole bubble engineer scam, and catch the next carrier out to Colonia, where the engineers have much simpler unlock requirements, provide everything you'd get from Qwent and much more, and are conveniently close together so you don't have to spend a day hopping around the bubble every time you want a ship engineered.

In fact Sirius is in at least the second week of lockdown now

Xyndor there's no point in complaining about this 'feature' here, the forum bullies only allow the right sort of complaints - try starting a topic on one of these 'hot' subjects instead:

  • Everyone should get a free Cobra IV
  • Solo play should be banned
  • Open play is full of gankers

the forum bullies only allow the right sort of complaints
Lol. So people who point out how to play the game have graduated from White Knights to forums bullies now - excellent!
