Why are n00bz so rude... "?"

OP,

they aren't rude, they just don't read their comms.

I have been helping countless newbies in all starter systems since release. Most of them simply don't get it. They don't read comms and they got no clue where they are and what's going on.

Don't use LHS 3447 or Eravate. These systems are mostly populated by starters in their first hours.

Use one of the surrounding systems: Frigaha, Chamunda, Kremainn, Kini (Anarchy, no fines for knocking at their door).

Talk to them but be prepared: Most will panic. They tend to attack your Corvette (sic!) using the dreaded ram-of-death. Watch out for bent windshield wipers.

Even more so: Watch out for the "good people" considering you a griefer and not even taking a second look.

(Hint: There is NO need for an armed police force in starter system. The half dozen braindead griefers are better fought by ignoring them and warning newbies. They lose interest. Don't fight them, they all got "survival" builds and live from "you can't get me" - you just nurture them in fighting them).

Continue helping them, they need help. A few bucks, 4 in sys, no overshoot in supercruise and the magic websites for less frustration. Dropout rate is still way too high.

Kudos, cmdr!

I mean... if some rando interdicted me (which is a hostile act, hence the fine) and I was in a Sidey, yeah, I’d ignore you and run away, too. Too many dishonest creeps out there these days, so better safe than sorry unless I’ve got the better ship.

Maybe instead of violently yanking them out of supercruise, you should just dock at the starport and message them when they land? That’ll get you much better results.

No !
Message them just as they are about to enter the letter box.
Then sit back and giggle as they bounce all over the place :)

Noob : Quietly flying through space looking at the scenery....

ALERT ALERT YOU ARE BEING INTERDICTED

Gets dropped out of Super Cruise doesn't know why ????

Noob : OMG OMG OMG Hes just dropped out right behind me !
Noob : tries to jump ... Ships screaming at him that he has to wait for cool down of Friendship drive ? WTH is a Friendship drive ?
Noob : OMG boost .... Boost

Noob : Flip .. Boost ... Splat !

Holy that is funny!

As a noob, I once accidently shot at a CMDR in a battle zone because and he instantly blew me to pieces. Fair enough. He then sent me a message saying he was sorry for destroying me but I started it. I tried to reply to tell him it was an accident and no hard feelings but didn't know how to send a message then.

Be nice to noobs. Like learner drivers, children and virgins, we are all one once.

I meant IRL, that's legal justification for deadly force.
Do you intrude on people like that all the time?

You are being the rude one.
But you know that of course, thus this thread!

It's a poorly executed attempt, sadly.

What's your Cmdr name?

interfering with noobs is a "calling" for some kinds of people

This thread cracks me up, everyone is calling them noobs (or noobz if you are one of the cool kids I guess) but in reality, the OP is discussing NEWBIES, a very different thing;

I. What is this?
This guide is designed to give you a better understanding of
what a noob is, how to recognize them, some details about them, and how to avoid or get rid of them. It mostly applies to online forums, which are the main targets of migrating noobs.

II. Defining 'Noob'
Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing.
Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed.

Noobs are often referred to as n00bs as a sign of disrespect toward them, and it's often hella funny, but I will refer to them as noobs during this reading.

* Usually the topic at hand on an internet forum.

Sorry but just because the Urban Dictionary says something, that doesn't make it absolute.

You can get alternative definitions of these made-up terms, a basic example is do a google of noobs and you get:

noob
nuːb/
nouninformal
plural noun: noobs

a person who is inexperienced in a particular sphere or activity, especially computing or the use of the Internet.

Then even further you can go to wiktionary and see:

Alternative forms

n00b, newb, nub

Etymology

Representing a pronunciation of newb (a shortened form of newbie).

Noun

noob (plural noobs)

(Internet slang, often pejorative) A newb or newbie; refers to the idea that someone is new to a game, concept, or idea; implying a lack of experience. Also, in some areas the word noob can mean someone is obsessed with things.

... so really Urban Dictionary is not the "be-all and end-all". :)
