Powerplay Why are players undermining WAY more than needed?

It is a flaw in the way people's minds work. PP is a cooperative activity. The people doing merit grinding are simply selfish. They do not care abut anything but their own benefit. A lot of the people doing this are simply lazy or module/bonus hunters. [...]

The only way you can deal with this is by promoting the "coordination councils" a little more. Many players don't even know those exist. To most people PP is just an obscure jumble of colors on the map. They don't understand it, so they don't relate to it.

Cant agree more!

If the game had in-game messageboards (in star-ports, at nav-beacons or in the powerplay-tab for example) I am shure player communication could be a great way to tackle such issues.

With ingame boards we could:

* promote "coordination councils"
* get in contact with local player fractions
* guide the novice-players
* call for help
*start flame-wars

ok the last point is a thing not wanted. but if the communicationsystem had something slefmoderating with up/downvotes and an option to client-side block certain players it could work with more gain then annoyance!

Its the bane of powerplay that people have to be recruited to join communitys on external web-pages. If this could be done ingame it would be way easyier to have some interaction and coordination.

Furthermore I hope powerplay will become more integrated with the rest of the game maybe through powerplay missions and better integeration with the background sim and hopefully playing powerplay in open will be promoted in some way or another...
