Why are there so many haters of FDEV on this forum? A nickname is need for these folks.

I'd have made them more about carrying a fleet and acting as trade hubs than working as portable bubbles. Having them able to trade with others out in the middle of nowhere is fine as it helps resources move to the edges with scaling cost and would be a key part of the economy if one day they added building player factories like in X3 (one can dream), or created trade goods / mineables that are only found in specific regions. I'd have limited things like repair/rearm even for the owner, if adding it at all I'd have some limited "repairium" resource you need to buy in the bubble to prevent completely taming the wilderness. It's hard to get back a sense of there being a frontier once it's gone. Can't really remove that stuff now without intense drama and it will require creating a new galaxy that FCs can't travel to in order to get it back. I'd also have removed FC maintenance costs and made them despawn after X days of inactivity instead; on logging in after a hiatus it'd spawn in some nearby system and message you some flavor text about having been ordered to cease loitering in the system. In the current system we have, people load their FC up so even if they stop playing it's not going to despawn for a year or more.
Alot of what you're saying was suggested back before the FC beta was opened and I generally agree with that. Back before the FC beta some people were suggesting making a beacon of sorts with the trade hub so the FC will only become persistent if the owner needs it too be. I'm not going to say that every problem with FCs is the persistence but the majority of them stem from it. It's a feature that the majority of the player base asked for, wanted, or still want. Sure there are some try hards that probably dreamed about owning and running their own starport but the vast majority just wanted a place to store all of our stuff and that's it.

Anyway sorry about going on a tangent. Lol. FCs are still heated subject for me.

RE: OP
I think this Forum is fine.
Honestly if I were to count the real haters that still hang around to salt the waters, I'd probably sooner ran out of names than my fingers.
And the number of arguments used against the game or Fdev is also pretty limited. There are bugs, yes, a fair point. But what else. "This game isn't what I want it to be" is the most common one, but that is not something Fdev can really answer, nor they should pay too much attention to it.
There tend to be a couple of good feature suggestions, here and there, but most of the time, the criticism of this sort is just a verbal equivalent of rolling on one's back, kicking the air.

But it's not like Fdev can somehow release a "community patch" to get rid of them. They're here to stay. Just like us. And Elite. It all balances out. :)
