... wing missions in solo mode?

Dropped into solo last night because I'm seeing about half the missions in group and open being wing missions (annoying but fair I guess) and I wanted to see if they'd disappear and offer me more mission choices in solo.

Nope still there in SOLO??? Why? Can't have player wings in solo so why are they there taking up mission slots? And what solo player would take a deliver 890 of something (I've see quantities way, way larger that that) when it might take 3 or 4 trips even in one of the big boys and be a cr/hr wrecker? Makes no sense. None at all.

why not? some of the haul X for 11M missions are working well in solo too. Yet an option should exist to exclude some of the wing missions generated from the board.
 
You don't have to be in a wing to do them, they can be done solo.

Yeah. I know. But even a 10 or 11M credit mission hauled by a maxed out cargo T-9 could take 5 or 6 deliveries to deliver the 4 or 5 thousand units some of those call for. Cr/Hr Wrecker. Not cost effective.

Find the ones that pay 25-30m for 2 trips then. ;)
 
It has been suggested before by other cmdrs, but I too think wing missions should be moved to a separate board, like passenger ones. And obviously removed from solo.

there is that imbalance again, I saw this for canned food and other useless items. But I got a 1658 units of perosnal wepaon ones yesterday for 11M payment. that goes in 2 or 3 trips depending on your shieldwanted outfits. But I agree I saw some commodities not worth doing the trips, where you get like 3M for 1700units of whatever.

Not everyone plays this game thinking about Credits per Hour all the time... just saying. Also, as Kitty mentioned - there are some that offer better payment.

In which way do you play it then? The mission board just gives you "haul X of A for Y" which either is influence, crdits or some materials.
So as long as you do nto suppirt a minor faction there is no reason to take any of those missions as dumped down to the mechanics they do not differ at all, which in the end does not create any reasonable motivation why to do a specific one an another one not.
 
So that I can do them solo? Durrrrr.

It;s true though, I like doing wing assassinations in solo.

890t for, say, 2 million is around 2k profit per tonne. Many of them will be better than that - a few of them will go up to 10k/tonne.

So if you've got somewhere where you're regularly going back and forwards between A and B with solo cargo missions, filling up the spare hold capacity with wing cargo will usually be more profitable than trading from the market for it.
 
Its indeed silly they spawn in solo mode.

it would make more sense if you would get 4 times the reward if you do it alone. Otherwise they are not worth it, as solo missions pay more.

sad is, there are regular trade routes netting you above 4k per ton in profit (like trading meds to outbrak systems). And many of these "wing" missions do not even pay these values, which ultimately makes them worth a lot less. it only is worth it because multiple people can do them at ONCE, giving basically 2x, 3x or 4x the payout at which level they start being more proficient than regular trading.

To keep pounding on you about all the FUN you are supposedly missing in OPEN mode.
 
2 wing hauling missions, one from the target location hauling to the source, and one from the source hauling to the target. Both will take around 2-3 trips, both pay around 3-4mil and possibly some grade 5 engineering materials. Pick up, drop off, pick up... About 10 million richer, engineering materials and all. Once each mission is completed, pick up another and you have a never ending relay between 2 stations, and a steady stream of efficient profit. Better than just raw bulk trading. To be honest I'm using them more to get in the groove of bulk hauling and for the engineering materials. Seems the easiest way to stock up on MEF.

Succinctly, to the OP. Because players wanted challenges for their g5 machines. Cargo missions are not the only Wing Missions available.
