Why, Cosmic Cow? WHY?

Just, just look how enormous Cosmic Cow's "small" sign is compared to other shops' small signs.
I know unique design is important, but Cosmic Cow's small sign is just a thinner big sign without 'ice cream/milkshake' bit below. Couldn't it be a bit...smaller?
