Why do I need to buy Odyssey to land at Meredith Plant to unlock Engineer Zacariah Nemo?

Hi all.

Working my way through the Engineers List and have come to the last one, Zacariah Nemo. Have become Allied to the Party of Yoru and have accepted the Courier mission from Manning Station in Yoru, delivering data to Meredith Plant on Hollos B4. Thing is, as per the screenshot attached, I'm being told I can't land at Meredith Plant unless I have Odyssey (I'm playing Horizons 4.0), so cannot complete the mission to access Nemo. Checking the plant description, as per 2nd screenshot, it makes no reference to me needing Odyssey and I have the right pads for my Mamba and I am Allied so same as all the other planet based settlements I have landed at 1000s of times before.

All the YouTube videos I have seen on how to unlock Nemo make no reference to requiring Odyssey to land at the plant, so I'm at a loss why it is the case here. I really don't have any interest in walking around the surfaces of planets so no interest in Odyssey and it seems a bit turdish if to land the last engineer I need to fork out for additional software I don't want.

I have exited the programme to desktop, rebooted my machine and reloaded Horizons 4.0 and still getting the same blunt message as I try to approach Meredith Plant that I ain't coming in with trainers on or without a freshly bought version of Odyssey.

All advice gratefully received.

Interesting.... So perhaps in hor 4.0 mission destination can include edo settlements? Eddb lists Merdith plant as Horizons.....
It looks like an error to me

Best to drop the mission and do other missions to gain REP with the Party of Yoru

Thanks for confirming that I should have access to Meredith on Horizons.

Will do and thanks again.

No, Meredith Plant is on an atmospheric planet, Hollos B4 and Horizons players can't land on atmospheric planets, that includes Horizons 4.

You can clearly see from your screenshot it has an atmosphere and it should also say so in the system map. Not sure why you were sent there, but that planet's not available without Odyssey.

Thanks for that. Hands up to me not checking I could land on the planet before accepting the mission, albeit I had no reason to check as this is the first time in years of playing I've had such an issue as this arise. You can see from the mission screenshot, to me it was to be a simple data courier delivery to unlock the last engineer. Live and learn, eh?

The mission generator for Horizons 4.0 isn't smart enough to filter out destinations that are only accessible to Odyssey players. Abandon the mission and get a different one for the invitation (check the destination before accepting).
Okily dokily Ned. Cheers for that and will do. Frustrating all the same as you say that 4.0 can offer missions to players that they then can't complete because they'd need Odyssey. Hope the devs have a look into that.

Well understandably this is a brand new issue since the release of Odyssey, Horizons player before Odyssey was released couldn't possibly have had this problem, so it's not surprising this is the first time you have encountered it.

Horizons 3.8 did indeed have the same problem when Odyssey first came out (lasting for several months), with missions being directed to settlements that didn't even show up in the navigation panel to non-Odyssey players.

I also suspect the bit that makes chain and engineer missions works differently to the rest of the mission system.
Follow-on (chain) missions seem to be missing from 4.0.

Well I did say the problem didn't exist before "Odyssey" came out, there was no mention of the release of Horizons 4.0 there at all, so this is a brand new problem after the Odyssey release as I said in my post.

To be fair, vanilla ED used to have the same issue when Horizons came out too.

Just buy Odyssey and support Frontier!
Besides, you can make krillions with exobiology and see cool plants!!
