Why do medium pads take longer to detach from than small and large?

Hello Commanders!

The delay in launching waiting for blast shields to operate is not something we particularly want (which is why some of the pads no longer have them). We will, hopefully, be removing the remaining delays at some point (I believe the process is a little finicky and lower down the priority list at the moment).

why dont the blast shields simply move down as soon as the ship landed ? It's not like they are needed anymore.
Another possible change is allow take-off with raised blast shields. Everyone is going up anyhow, and during take-off the blast shields are at the wrong spot anyway ...
