Why does ship been designed completly randomly ?

I for sure use different ships for different roles. I use the Viper Mk IV for mat hunting, the AspE for exploration, and the Python for mission running.

I don't have a T9, although I'm considering it for trading. I do believe this ship gets easily super-seeded by the Anaconda, although I don't have that one yet. I think the cargo ships are all good, although they lack a bit in the defense department, and as such become easy preys. This at least is my guess why they might be falling behind.

For the rest, I do believe a lot of thought has gone in their design, so kudos to FD here.

"- Trader (slow, low agility, huge cargo, huge jump loaded, low jump empty, low firepower, high defense)"

What lol

Yeah i said the same... "... What!?" No. No.

And that would be better and more right than like it is? Laughable.

Too bad for you :(
Of course, that's relative.
A jump of 20ly with 500T of cargo is considered as good value.
A jump of 25ly while empty is a bad value (despite beeing better compared to the previous one)
That's the point of a freighter : he is supposed to be very efficient when loaded, but he is not supposed to be efficient when empty.

It's the whole difference between anaconda and cutter :
the cutter is well designed as a freighter, because despite he get a good jump when loaded, it doesnt turn into a crazy jump master when empty like the anaconda does.
There isnt any magic or special tweaking behind it (it wouldnt be, cutter was considered as fighter from designer), the cutter is simply heavy when empty, due to the huge hull mass.

I think most ships are in a pretty good position... the only thing I agree to is the criticizm of the cargo ships. It's really hard to like these ships, if they aren't even the best cargo haulers in their respective class.

They should indeed be able to carry considerably more cargo than they currently can. Especially the T-9 should be the top cargo hauler in the game and be able to carry 800-1000 tons.

Yeah, the cargo capacity buff to the T-7 made a decent difference (along with the armour improvements to all the T-series). It's just the T-9 that seems misplaced. Given how expensive and slow it is, it's not even able to carry very much and it's jump range is appalling. The Beluga or Anaconda are significantly better traders simply because they can trade between two stations with a single hop instead of the 2 or 3 hops the T9 needs. In terms of "cargo moved per hour" it's really quite awful within its class.
