Why don't all my weapons fire?

So attached is my weapons and fire group but I can only fire my missiles all the other weapons don't fire cannons lasers with this arsenal I should blast anything out of the sky? On the subject of weapons how good are the plasma weapons? I just cant them to fire at anything.

Most of those weapons are turrets. They won't fire on command, you'd need to target a ship and pull the trigger, and then they'll try to target and fire automatically. The 2D laser and 1E cannons are gimballed, so they should be firing.

Do you have pips to WEP? Beam lasers are particularly distributor-hungry so if you've emptied your WEP capacitor the beams and cannons won't be able to fire. Missiles have zero distributor draw, so they can keep firing on an empty capacitor.

Need more information, what ship, and what size power plant and power distributor? Are the weapons online in the modules tab?

After looking at the image again, do you have Fire Group B selected?

ok set my cannons to group 2
yes attack protocol alpha ... full power to weapons bal to shields
Anaconda
power plant 7a engineered
power dist 8a engineered
2x 3f pulse laser
3d cannon engineered
3a missle rack
2e beam laser engineered
2d beam laser
2x 1e cannon

Im unsure how these are all suppose to fire .. but at moment only missles fire one turret attempts to lock on. I think my whole set up is not linking in when pushing the fire button.

one confused commdr who still survived the skirmishes just.

I say this with all due respect but that's not the best line up ive ever seen, like putting Rihanna on before Megadeth, its going to get heated.
Cannons are pretty rubbish, fun but rubbish, i would swap them for multi's.

For me there are more than two fire groups there but best you can do is all Turrets on group 2, gimbled cannons on 1, i would have a separate group for the beam laser (1) to strip shields and missiles on 2.
Its a bit of a mess though.
I am assumong this is PVE in which case Turrets on the Annie are the way forward, but if your in Open you need to completely rethink as that build will get you killed.

By the screenshot you posted, if you hold down the primary fire, even with nothing targeted, at least the gimballed beam, cannons, and dumbfire missiles should all fire.
If you're sure you haven't accidentily swapped to fire group B that only contains dumbfires on secondary fire, then a power problem is all I can think of.
Have you set power priorities and made sure your build wasn't over your power budget?

A couple more images would really help, as below. People have asked and you have answered for some of this but images would prevent any misunderstanding so more helpful suggestions could be given

1 Showing when you want to fire
  • Weapons are currently selected
  • Weapons have sufficient ammunition
  • Pips are given to weapons

2 Showing your modules (edit: at the time of fire)
  • Weapons modules are not disabled
  • Weapon priority is clear
  • Power usage is shown

Thanks shotbait .. I'm a little unsure of how to set power priorities any suggestions appreciated. Cmmdr Darrack thanks for your input what do u mean by multi"s is that a sweet? sorry Im new at this game so if people swap the short titles for actual that would be helpful.

cheers cmmdr CM

Here's some screen shots I don't seem to have primary A rather primary b and secondary B not sure why? these weapons are really getting confusing I've also done screen shots in order of 123&4 of power draw if that helps someone to steer me .. but make it clear abbreviations just confuse things. Blaggerdy your screen shots are helpful as you can see my cockpit screen shot makes my weapons etc look a mess in comparison just not sure how to fix it.

thanks cmdr CM

Hi
To change Fire Group (cycling from A > B > A etc. in your example) try using the 'N' key which should work unless you have remapped keys
edit: and you change Fire Groups on your main screen (your weapons ship.jpg image. Hopefully that will get your other weapons working)

As suspected, you are using the B fire group that has only missiles
Switch to fire group A

Edit:
So, you can have multiple firegroups, they become available as needed (you wont see a fire group C listed in the Fire Groups Tab if you have no hardpoints assigned to FireGroup B already)
Each firegroup has 2 triggers, 1 (main mouse button which is Left button, or main Joystick trigger, or main Right trigger if you play with controller) and 2 which is the secondary trigger (right mouse button, etc you get the idea)

So on the A column, you will need to set all weapons you want to fire in the A fire group, splint in Main trigger (1) or secondary trigger (2)
Usually you'd put all lasers on one trigger and multicannons on secondary trigger. Mixing lasers, multicannons and missiles on the same trigger is not really recommended due to ammo consumption, different projectile speeds and missiles being usually fixed or requiring lock before fire (and much lesser ammo requiring controlled fire)

So, with your specific outfitting, you should put on A fire group: lasers on (1) and cannons on (2). And you use lasers to strip shields, then use cannons to work on the hull
Then in B fire group you should put missiles on (1) and cannons on (2) and use this fire group only when the target lost shields.

Just an idea

(edited for clarity regarding triggers)

Also you seem to have your ECM as part of your weapons group so it will trigger at the same time? IIRC ECMs are high drain, I'd move that to a separate group or just map it to a button.

one of my rails stops firing. did anyone encouter this?
its worked fine yesterday but today one of my two rails just refuses to fire.
power is good, distro is fine, no damage to modules, firegroups are set up as they should be. ammo is there.
as i said its literally the same ship as yesterday, no changes have been done.
i pulled it out, sent it to engineer with another ship, swapped experimental (i was using 2x superpen but figured one feedback would be really helpful), put it back and it was working for a while. then again after a few hours it just refuses to fire. i even set the rails to separate fire group, one on primary one on secondary, and one fires one doesnt. restarting the module nor ammo synth works.
halp :c

Did you submit to an interdiction just before? Sometimes my weapons don't fire or fire erratically after being pulled out of supercruise.

damn thats very much possible. i was doing kill missions at the time so there definitely were interdictions. did you find any way how to wake the sleepy hardpoint up perchance?
