Why Federal Corvette?

I bought a Corvette, tried it out, and then sold it. Twice. I determined it just wasn't for me.

Then I decided to give it one more try when the price was reduced due to the recent interstellar initiative. I'm glad I did. It's loads of fun now that I've figured out how to use it. Third time's a charm I guess.

If it wasn't for the fact I have a serious Outpost fetish, I'd probably live in my Corvette. I have it set up for running any mission; cargo bays, passenger cabins, an SRV, it jumps 30LY with a Guardian booster and flays anything PVE that wants a go. Ridiculously versatile and handles well enough to be a daily driver.

Edit: I don't have a single screenie of my Corvette on this HDD but here's a particularly lovely outpost.

Hmm. Perhaps its a sale Red Anders? Just bought one as it goes! How do I outfit it? No idea how to use it, I've been stuck on the small ships as I love the manouvreability. Cant see what the fun is in a big ship. Please let me know what the fun is!

Worst part about a ship like a Corvette (or other big ship) is how to set them up.

If it's a cargo ship it's pretty simple. You bung in a shield, a fuel scoop and then roll it in cargo racks.
For any other big ship, though, there's so many slots, and so many possibilities, that you can waste a heap of time and effort getting it right.

Here's my Corvette: https://s.orbis.zone/62o-

I'd suggest spending quite a bit of time playing with Coriolis or EDSY before actually buying/fitting/engineering any modules on your ship in-game.

I just checked and I don't have my current build saved on either the old or the new coriolis.io No idea how that happened to be honest because I built it on there first. I'd log in and get it from the game but it takes ages to note down a Corvette build because it has so many internals and I'm of to bed 😁 I'm sure some of our fellow commanders will oblige. Like I said I use mine when I want to just take off, see where I end up and run some missions when I get there and for that gameplay just treat it like a massive Python that can deal hot death whilst carrying 200+ tons of cargo and a bunch of passengers and you can't go wrong.

In a moment of boredom, I once took mine into a CZ outside a station that I was running cargo and passengers to, with said cargo and passengers on board. Not many ships you can do that in for a start. Oh and try multicannons or beams in the class 4 hardpoints. Personally I'm a multicannon fan and those class 4s are just ridiculous.

After buying a Federal Corvette, I thought why did I waste my credits on this ironing board looking ship that feel like I am fly a small ship with terrible jump range.

I just unlocked the Corvette and got it going. Some of you may have asked yourselves, why would I get this ship?
Coming from the man who was right there with you in Sothis grinding for this, I can tell you that I ranked up and bought it for one reason, which is so that I can RP as the futuristic spaceship pilot version of this guy when I'm in the bubble:

That's it. Otherwise, I'm in the Courier, Vulture, DBX or Phantom.
