Why Federal Corvette?

That's actually something I really like about the Vette - that understated, yet menacing 'rumble' of the engines when you increase throttle. Absolutely love it and feel like I'm in charge of a Star Destroyer.
With how much armour my Corvette carries I'd expect ship sounds to be quite muted... If the engine sound was loud I'd be heading back to port to have the gaping hole in the hull fixed...

Me, about to ruin somebody's day. 😬

missed a blinder there, "Me, about to spoil somebody's day. 😬 "

The corvette is the ultimate PVE powerhouse. It has by miles the most firepower of any other ship. Its PvP identity is somewhat more obscure...It's still a strong ship, but at the end of the day, you cannot keep up with anything. So Cutters just orbit you at 5km and pepper you until dead with long range, mediums will just run away and reverski/reboot, as they can reverse faster than you can go forward. It's for area supremacy and nothing else, it has its place in wing fights. You want to hold a position in space or at a PoI, or provide an anchor for your buddies in a furball, you can do that in a vette. You want to destroy another ship flown by a competent pilot in open space? You can't do that.

Good thing I don't PvP then. :)

I will admit that the 'logic' used in this game overall must abide by some rules derived from someone's nether region or someplace similar.

In this particular case, why the vette doesn't have C7 thrusters and boost to about 450 fully engineered, or at least attain the boost speed of that whale the cutter escapes me.

Is there anyway to mitigate your heat damage over time when using tc?

Keep the heat only a little over 100% and don't stay there for to long. I have 3 short range blasters on mine and it makes it much more toasty than with only efficient PAs. With all efficient I think I would have enough power to triple bank the 3 rapid charge SCBs, but I like the extra damage more.
Just embraze it, life in Elite is to short for rational decisions. Usually short before I run out of ammo I get a few module failures, mainly externals and once in a while the FSD. It takes a chunk out of my combat bonds for repair cost, but it's so much fun. The beam setup is a whole different animal, there I usually limp home after a successful battle and not because I got shot up by the enemy.

Shooting a railgun from the wing of a Cutter is interesting too, you barely can hear the wind-up sound and the aural cue is really important for the snap. Still can't get used to that.

I like how the Corvette looks, but I'm not as impressed with the weapon configuration. This is because I prefer to fly my big ships like battleships rather than jet fighters. Therefore I like my old BattleConda back on PS4 more than I do this Corvette that I have in storage. I'm actually considering the Type-10 as my new "battleship". It looks way too silly, but I love the hardpoints (at least in theory). I need to find some videos showing this Ninja Turtle in action.

Spoilers make you go faster. Just don't tell the T10 that.

It's faster than the T-9 and that one doesn't have a spoiler:unsure:. I love my space cow, it's useless but fun.

One of the best sources on the T-10.

I've been a long time Cutter captain but was thinking about Corvette for about a year. Recently I bought it and "A" rated it without doing too much of an engineering for now. In the beginning I was debating myself on whether should I keep it and engineer it or should I go back to flying Cutter. Truth is, Corvette and Cutter way too different. They both have their advantages and weaknesses and need to be used for different purposes. I gave up on guessing and debating and decided to keep both of them. I am sure, at some point I will love my Corvette just as much as I love my Cutter. Just have to learn to use it. ;)

dont you run the risk of getting stuck in a moon :) heh .. radically different look .. coolness
I'd promised myself a raider kit for a ship for a while... The Corvette one goes from understated to 'over the top'... A real pig in toast racks....
(Not really :) )

Thanks - I went "Medium over the top" 👍
