It all started so well with me and my exploration Anaconda, the Jerle Shannara, plotting an epic adventure to the eastern rim of the galaxy and then to cross over behind the core and end up in the northwest corner pocket. True, there was an early bumped landing, which reduced me to 57% hull, and later on there was an incident where I dropped in between two close binary stars which melted my hull down to 36%, but I also sped along a 27,000 LY long neutron cluster without incident, so it wasn't all bad.
And there were many discoveries, such as yuge ringed ammonia worlds, binary earthlikes, and the literal last moon in the galaxy. It was all going so well.
Then I invite a mate aboard who wants to see how far out I am in the Chreesaae sector, which is roughly 60,000 LY from Earth. We jump and scoop and chat and scan, then we decide to drop into an ice field for some selfies.
Sure, I say, I'll just grab another beer.
In we drop, and I'm taking in the lovely sights, and I decide, I know, I'll see if I can get a shot of my Conda weaving in and out of the icebergs.
I'll let the pictures do the talking here.
That's 7 weeks and 150,000 LY of scans down the toilet. All because of my inebriated narcissism.
FDev, if you change the name of the Chreesaae PB-V b16-0 system to Hubris Point, I'll send you some Devon craft beer.
As for me, I'm gonna play something else for the foreseeable future.
Tl;dr - I act like a 60,000 LY from Earth and crash.
