System chat and direct messages are coss-mode, the others are not. Everyone in Shinrarta can talk to everyone else in Shinrarta via System chat. Blocking does restrict cross mode chat.

Is it also cross-platform? I'm thinking probably not, as I've never seen a System Chat on PS4.

I asked in chat once and everyone said they were playing on GameBoy Pocket. I suspect they were being deceptive though.

Fdev DID take a stance... and it was for the mode system we have now.
