Why is colonia getting so much attention?

I don't quite understand why this region is getting so much focus from the FDev's.
The 3 CG's that were supposedly for "building more stations" on route to it is a good example of this.

Why is there such focus toward this region of space? if you head there, there really isn't much of anything over there. Heck jaques station doesn't even have missions on it's mission board atm. Plus there really isnt any ships to buy over there, nor much of anything in outfitting either.

So, what's the point of focusing so much around this region of space when there is nothing of value to keep players in that region? Are we going to have a 2nd jameson memorial station over there? or is there going to be a new super power formed over in that region of space? or will there be exclusive ships/ outfitting stuff for that region?

If there isn't going to be anything of value over in that region. Then whats the point of going over there besides having a empty hub for explorers to go to. When they can just go back to stations in the bubble like jameson memorial or whatnot. Are we just getting trolled by fdevs here or am I missing something?

Speaking of Colonia.
In all the hubbub, did somebody remember to whistle back all the doomsayers from their exodus trip ?
Y'know the ones predicting widespread devastation across the bubble once 2.4 hit ?:D

Yea there were dozens of passenger missions to there last night at wu gunagi. I guess everyone is fleeing the bubble now that the bugs are finally here.

I used to like the place, now there's kids hoover boarding across my lawn.

Didn't you know that purporting to grief explorers, etc., in places like Colonia and Beagle Point is supper 1337? If only there was more of an easy and significant reason to in-game to reward this sort of emergent and valuable game-play for the good of the community and players alike...

I suspect one possible way the Thargoid story will go is to have them invading the bubble, and the whole Colonia thing has always been about establishing a place where anyone who wants to stay out of the Thargoid conflict can go. That fits perfectly with the Lore regarding the Dynasty Expeditions and things like that. Colonia is slowly becoming easier to get to and there's more stuff (stations etc.) being set up there as time goes on.

If it'll make colonia more alive then lets bring in the thargoid invasion.

That doesn't sound right when I read it outloud but who cares!

There's an old adage that most of you youngen's have ever heard of which goes. "Build it, they will come". It's a tried and true adage. Colonia is growing and with support from the main Governmental body (FDev) who rides herd over both the major and minor factions, will grow more if and when there's a need. Should there be no need, build it, they will come.

I'm presently 200 systems (5 more hours, the way I play) from getting there in my striped down DBX which I had built for just this one purpose. My Vette and or Python were all stocked with mods I generally need, placed 36 items in my storage for possible future endevors I may choose. Thus I have access to them, and don't have to rely on the outfitters to have them in stock. OK, shipping is expensive, but far cheaper than a trip back to the bubble to swap mods, when their not available here.

Uh, what? That's news to me and had nothing to do with why I helped out Jaques in the Repair Jaques Station CG over a year ago.

Pretty sure Colonia was just about starting a new place well outside of the main bubble and the politics there. The "plan" before that was to have it start out a Beagle Point, if I'm not mistaken.

Colonia being near empty is entirely the reason why I call it my home...the bubble now is just like the supermarket while colonia has the corner shop. Its just a place to chill in and store stuff in...explorers might find that useful instead of going back to that other place all the time. Let the bubble dwellers tear each other apart...no skin off my nose ^

i thing FDEV are working on a new human Bubble. they also added new station in 2.4
Indeed. The plan was: we're going to create Bubble 2.0 because we already have a Bubble you see. Yeah, didn't make sense to me either. I hoped for a refuge from people going through the BGS rat race where politics weren't a thing.

Instead we got concentrated politics now with 100% more politics. Exactly the thing most visitors of Jack's Station were trying to get away from.

Oh well, it's like ing into a Hurricane.

It is interesting concept and quite a few commanders like it.

As for rest of us we would like to have more BGS and more natural expansion instead of handcrafted placements of stations.

So it is good question why it is getting lot of attention. However to be fair it is still a choice to go there so...it's all good.

I remember the salt farm over that with a great many of us feeling used over the CG to get it up and running. Finally, we could one place in the whole universe without any of the petty politics of the bubble. A good time to be an explorer...

And then fd moved the factions in and the whole thing went sideways. In a way, jacques stopped being an explorers and travellers rest and adopted home and became a service station with storage facilities.

Well played frontier...well played.

It's still my home but I don't involve myself with any of the faction community there. That's a big part of why I walked away from the bubble in the first place ^

it makes perfect sense that the humans expends. and i can understand people wanting to get away from the bubble...

but it makes more sense and its really does sounds like creating a second bubble is the plan if you follow whats happening.

I for one would love a second bubble , a chance to create a new home! the current bubble is getting boring.
