I mean, a lot of the current issues would of been picked up without breaking the main game. I thought that was what beta testing was for?
Thats why you do testing, so you dont have to think or guess. At least thats what game dev companies with any respect at all for their player base does, and i think you are correct, they didnt think or test, the results certainly seem to confirm that.My guess is that they didn't think

Whats a subscription have anything to do with an update being tested or not, not many games with subs anymore. Been saying this game is treated like a early access game with dlc from the beginning. My guess is that they didn't think this update would affect things like engineering, as an example. Good thing to remember is that this game is not on subscription. I can surely wait a week or two for things to get fixed. I am not losing any real money in the process.

And, Frontier is losing sales while people wait for the bug fixes. You must have not read what I wrote... I will repeat myself.
"My guess is that they didn't think this update would affect things like engineering, as an example."
Also this...
"They probably tested things they expected to be affected."
My wording regarding sub-based games (WOW etc), is that, at least, we are not paying them (FD) during downtime caused by bugs.
There was beta testing during the first year after release. You used to have to pay to beta test, then beta testing became free, and finally they dropped it altogether. I can understand the first change, the second not so much.OP: there's been no beta testing, none, since premium beta ended. How many years ago was that now? Sure, there was a "beta preview" or whatever FDev called it where one could pay money for early access to an upcoming release. But it wasn't beta testing; it was "learn the new meta-build before others" testing.

Have you been taking my meds? That is not my problem though. It is FDs problem. Why are you trying to make that my problem?
It cost either $5 or $10 to beta test an update for a couple weeks before it came out, and then for a short while you had to be an LEP owner to be able to do it. Then they made it free, and a couple of releases later they stopped beta testing. This was, as I wrote, in the very early days after release.Pay to beta-test? When did that happen? I've been in several betas and never had to pay for them. And I am not a LEP owner.

Re-read my post prior to your response. I did an edit and the info I added starts with the word EDIT.I'm talking about the Community Goals and Wings updates. I'm not sure if PowerPlay had a paid beta.
