Why I've abandoned the HOTAS in favour of a mouse.

It's more comfortable LOL.

Anyone else choose mouse and keyboard just because you can sit back in your comfy office chair and barely move a muscle?

Very relaxing.

HOTAS for me in VR. I have an office chair and desk the correct height so I can rest my elbows on the chair arms, It's as comfortable as it gets and I speak as someone with lots of hand pain. Mouse and KB, especially keyboard for long periods is challenging, controller is impossible, so I am grateful for my HOTAS.

On a related note, I played ED with my Xbox controller last night.

It. Was. Horrible.

M&K? Great fun. HOTAS? Brilliant. Gamepad? Can't believe I'm saying this now, but... Eww.

You can't really play some flightsims satisfyingly without a HOTAS. The complexity is gonna kill it because of the workload of pressing all the buttons on your keyboard.

Oh, I completely agree on flight sims. I wouldn't compare ED to say, MFSX, though. They're totally different.

I've always used a mouse and when they became available more, a keypad. Gone through the Razers and logi ones and now have the best (imo) I've come across which is this . More or less every key is mappable/macros, not had a keypad like it, its also a mechanical keypad, so feels good too.

When I was younger, I played with small tables (height adjustable), to my left and right. I had a nice relaxing office style chair (very nice one).
KB, then later Keypad on the left and mouse on the right. Just the way I game. Keyboard to the front is only for work/typing, never really touch it for gaming.

Lazy gaming mode, is what my kids always use to say. But when I got in from work and wanted to relax, I'd spend money on finding the right stuff to use that made me comfy. [yesnod] Although a seperate room to game in, was also nice. I have my 'den' now, the wife's idea of keeping me out of her way, now we're together much of the time..

Forced retirement. :(
But it gives me lots of time for doing other things.. :)

All my flight gear is packed in boxes, we are doing some rearrangements in the house, it's just one of these project that take forever as I'm too busy at work and when i'm home I'm too lazy (according to the wife). So in boxes it stays, however that gives me more time to get on the beach and just goofe around with the dogs and fly my drones....

GOD I got so many projects at home I don't even know where to start (that's the lazy part).

Fix the pool, pump not working (100 m to the beach, who need a pool)

Paint the second floor (who needs that, we are out all the time anyways)

Finish all the IT wiring on Second floor (well need to paint first)

Quad need a service (need to buy oil)

Security cam at back yard keeps logging off (we got dogs, who need a camera, honey if you hear something shotgun is in the closet, just point and fire)

Garage door is sometimes getting stuck (just kick it, it works for me)

.......

so little time so much work....

Noooo way!

I even bought pedals and love how flying is now a "hole body experience". :)
(I even refrained from learnig FA-Off-only, just because I enjoy the constant toe-kicking to switch between both modes.)

... oh, and I also use VoiceAttack and therefore also use my mouth.
... and all this in VR, of course. ;)
(Maybe I should place a plate with old cheese near my computer so that I can smell the centuries old Cobra interiors, too? :p )
