It's more comfortable LOL.
Anyone else choose mouse and keyboard just because you can sit back in your comfy office chair and barely move a muscle?
Very relaxing.
HERESY!
Burn the heretic.

In VR a keyboard and mouse cripple the Game, whereas a good HOTAS means you can do almost everything without having to lift the VR headset.
If you ARE considering VR, you can get prescription lenses for them. I have got a set for my Rift CV1 from VR Labs (some people don't like them, but I find them to improve the visibility massively). No doubt. But ever since the recent announcement of the exploration, combined with a hereditily declining eyesight in my right eye... I have to look at the reality and accept that as cool as VR is, it may not be for me.
I hope the tech' does well but I think I'll be sticking to monitors, mainly because in five years my right eye just won't tolerate VR. Still, I can enjoy frame rates. My left eye is fine.![]()

With a good old G600 there isn't much you can't do really. In total there's 19 programmable buttons on this mouse (counting the mouse fwd/bwd buttons) plus a modifier button in case 19 is not enough (it's not) and you need to double that. Plus the ability to dynamically change sub-profiles if 38 is still not enough (it mostly is).
With this beauty there are games I can play with just the mouse when I feel particularly lazy. For ED it is a huge help and leaves your left hand free to operate just the thrusters.

Sorry to hear about your eye problem. As someone battling a variety of health issues, my advice would be to live in the present and not think about a few years down the line. You may be right, you may be wrong about what lies ahead. Till the bad happens enjoy the present. I wear varifocals and they work acceptably with the Rift.
